I had a problem with a Fed that had tapered abit. I took the liner out and steamed the hat and put a hat stretcher in and tensioned it. A bit more steam and a bit more tension. The result has been great. Got rid of the taper and it has a good boxy profile.

A great look! The hat looks great and is exactly the right proportion for your head size and shape! This is a tricky problem as if the hat looks either too small or large (as we see sometimes in other photos posted) it doesn't work! in my opinion!

Nobody has a bad word to say about the Akubra Federation 4. Can't recommend them enough. I sold mine a couple of years ago when I got my AB and really regret it now!

Joe - Steve is the master and that hat looks just right on you. I have had my Crystal Skull Adventurebilt for 3 years and it still looks like new. Sometimes people get the sizing wrong and Fedoras can look very obviously too small or too large. That though looks great.

You may be able to take the hat down a size or two if necessary by taking out the sweatband and reducing its size a little before stitching it back in. If you can't do it yourself I'm sure one of the hatters here could easily do it for you.
