Watch out for this guy on Ebay, too; hassank_7. He has almost a dozen auctions going on Ebay, with pictures taken right off Joe Strain's website.

Re: Idea... Thoughts
When I was first learning, I went and spent $300 (a lot back then) on a Strain, and proceeded to completely dissect it so I could see the insides.
It was somewhat painful!

I might also suggest you look into EC Whips for a very nicely done, reasonably priced, cowhide Indy style whip. And, if Jim is still active, a Whipworks whip would do you very nicely. EC whips and Whipworks are the same. But unfortunately Jim isn't making whips at this time. He'd made a post about ...

Hey Paul, I think these are the only pictures I have of them. They were 7 foot, 16 plait with 20 inch handles in natural tan with brandy accents on the knots. I've thrown a couple of Bernardo's whips and a few Morgans in my time. In my opinion, Bernardo's whips have the same balance and feel as a Morgan. They roll right out...BANG, effortlessly. Even in the look, you would almost think it was a Morgan if you just saw one lying around and picked it up.

I remember in the John Brady video that John took out a bullwhip at one point. He said it had been made for him by Tom Hill, either in the '40s or 40 years ago, which would put the manufacture date in the late 40s or early 50s. The whip was very similar to an Indy whip, but with what appeared to be ...
