Actually, it does look nice! Is that a new whip, ordered straight from Morgan, or was it acquired elsewhere? The reason I ask is because it doesn't look like a recent Morgan whip -- it more closely resembles his older ones. Then again, the lighter color suggests it was made recently...
Actually it was aquired elsewhere, it is an older whip, the color is actually darker than it shows in the picture. and if viewed up close you can see that it is older. It is a great whip, cracks extremely loud and just screams indy when i look at it!
Oh, okay. It must've been the flash that made it appear lighter. I thought it looked more like an older Morgan than a recently made one. Once again, nice whip -- congrats!!
yeah it was made right around the time raiders was made. It was given to me by a relative, it is awesome, the first piece of gear i own that is actually from the period of the movies. Im also trying to get my hands on an old herbert johnson poet from that time.
I don't think that's the one that Moses is speaking of -- there was another Bernardo whip auction that ended on Aug. 6th & was out of Austria. The item# was: 160014495175 -- that whip looks a lot closer than this one...
I'm not saying that it is or it isn't, just that the 2 whips look very similar. Just one question will settle this before it gets out of hand -- had you ever seen this whip in your grandfather's possession before a few months ago?
lol, yes, all the time, when he moved here from italy (where he lives now) he used to keep it in his shed (right next to a giant moose head which was also really cool!). When i was little, i used to play with the whip all the time and get yelled at. For my 23rd birthday, which was august 8th, he called me and told me that he was giving me the whip, as he has little use for it now that he is in his late 70's. I had to wait 2 weeks for the delivery from italy but it was well worth it and now this piece of my childhood, and indiana jones legacy, is all mine!
Well, if that's the god's-honest truth, then that settles it. Bernardo's only 36yrs old, so I'm sure he wasn't yet making whips 15 years ago! All I said was that it looked a lot like that Bernardo whip, which is what he does -- make copies of Morgan whips! So one more time, congrats on your new Morgan whip...

That may have actually been me, if that's the same whip I have. But I just put it on Ebay if you want to take another shot. Barely used!

LOL, it does look very nice. . But the money I had for it then I've spent on something else .
Hey bernardo, i have a friend who is obsessed with the whip i recieved...if you make close matches then i'll tell him to contact you...how much do your whips usually cost?
Bernardo,
That's the whip I bought from Doc and later sold on ebay - and the same whip that Moses is talking about I think
Does look VERY similar - even the fall is the same shape
That’s a very nice whip, it does look a lot like Bernardo’s current bullwhips, but then he makes a great deal of effort to make them as screen accurate as he can with out compromising the quality and design of the whip. Your Bullwhip looks in great shape for a 25-year-old whip, though im guessing the popper has been changed once or twice . Great story and history behind it too. Congratulations on getting it, That’s one h*ll of a Birthday gift.
