I have a wested horsehide jacket, and a schott nyc perfecto in cow. The horse is heavier, but feels softer and thinner. the cowhide is very stiff and tough, and is more suitable as say a bike jacket.

Hey Red, i just got an 80's fit Horsehide last week, i think it fits well, its a little snug in the shoulders, but i wouldnt call it tight. Its a size 38, and im about 5'7".

New Wested Horsehide

Hey all, just received my new wested Horsehide, i was kind of worried it wouldnt fit, but i love the way it fits me. Its a size 38, and its an 80s cut, i think it looks nice. The Horsehide feels soft, yet indestructible, i cant wait to get many years of use from this hoss. P.S. I know it looks goofy...

I think the Higher Yoke seam is standard for the "80s" fit, if thats how you got it. Im not sure what you got kalkamel.

I had a wested cow that i sold, and i have a non indy leather jacket that is lamb. the cow is pretty stiff and heavy compared to the lamb. It feels very bulletproof.

So the goat is comparable in feel to lamb, but is tough as nails? The samples i got from Peter and co. the goat was thick and tough, not that soft. thats kinds of confusing.

Does anyone have any experience with the Horsehide, i want to get a thicker type leather, and ive heard that the goat isnt that much thicker than the lamb. I have experience with the cow, i owned a cow and recently parted with it. any input is appreciated.

Do we have to do some arm twisting to get the shallower pleats, i just dont like them being so deep because the stick out a lot. Just my personal preference. As for the pockets, the large pockets are kinda big on my small frame.

Im sorry, so wested will make the shallower pleats for me? With the shallower pleats, it looks like the pleats are open most of the time in the film, but as you pointed out, they were way shallower.

Agent5, in your Raiders ultimate post, you mentioned how the pleats on the back were only 1.5 inches deep. Will wested do that nowadays, or is it standardized? does your raiders jacket have the shallow pleats? Thanx for any info.

Is there any way to get swatches of leather, does peter sitribute them, or even do some gearheads have them, i would like to examine them temporarily to compare the leathers. Obviously i would return them relatively quick. thanks in advance guys

I dont know too too much about the fedora, but im pretty sure the general consensus is that the Stetson was associated with Temple of Doom more than the other two.

thanks for that agent5, i appreciate the help i prolly would go for the lamb, except im kinda hard on my jackets. I like a real rough N tumble sort of jacket. I a have a non-indy jambskin jacket, and i beat it in like a year haha. Ill probably wind up going for a DB goat after i sell my cow.

Has anybody out there had any experience with shrinking a leather jacket in a dryer with some wet towels or something. I have a jacket that i cant seem to get rid of, and its too big for my taste. I was wondering if anybody had done this, if it worked, and whether it was a good idea or not.
