Total cost of the Wested?

Post by Walker »

Can anyone attest to the total cost nowadays of the Wested with current exchange rates? I'm just taking about a regular jacket with no mods ect. with the shipping and customs factored in.

Where are you?

I had one made and shipped to Southern California about this time last year, w/ a couple extras (like an extra pocket, etc.), and all told - shipping et al - it came to $305. It fluctuates, but that price came up a time or two again in the past year.

Anybody got a REAL recent number for his area?

(And where are you again?)

I'm in Pennsylvania so there is a possibility that shipping may be less for me as the jacket would not have to travel from the east to west coast.

How long does it take to know the final price?

I'm thinking of ordering this weekend once I get all the measurements down.

I guess we wont know the custom's price tag till it gets sent right?

So do you get the jacket and a bill, or do you have to send off payment before they let it through?

hahaha...I really didn't know the total till I got my credit card bill. Considering it would only be plus or minus $25 (most likely plus) on what was already a $300 charge, I wasn't too worried about it.

I gotta move to the States or at least setup a PO box in Buffalo. The taxes on imports from around the world are killing me. $120CDN tax for a Wested jacket. One hundred and twenty. And UPS is even worse with their brokerage charge. I got charged $75 for a $50 item. Craziness :?

Final tab for my Authentic Lambskin with no extras was $312.24 USD charged on May 3rd of this year.

And oh yes, no customs charges :D

As far as figuring out the total price before pulling the trigger, just figure it up from the prices listed on the web site and plug it into a currency converter like XE.com to convert to your home currency. Exchange rates change daily, but this ought to give you a real close estimate.

Cheers!

Let's see put £145 + £20 shipping into XE... $287 plus change at todays rate. Credit card company probably give slightly lower rate than XE so the $300-$310 sound pretty close. I think shipping rates may have increased a bit too.

Their guide price @ $250 is pretty darn close XE gives $252.44.
