Beautiful whips!
But I need to stop coming to this forum. It's giving me an itch to have a "package day" in my future.

But what if I had a Dewalt cordless drill, and you had a frozen halibut? LOL! I love it. :rolling: Don't be ridiculous... Do you know hard it is to get a decent crack out of a halibut, let alone a frozen one? The little buggers are so slippery, I had to buy grip gloves so it doesn't go flying off w...

Re: Favorite Type of Whip
As I've only cracked various styles of bullwhips (cow, roo, and nylon), I can't vote. :) I do want to get a stock whip one of these days, though. I do know that I could never crack a lunge whip when I used to work at a horse stable... I only tried a few times, but I didn't get a pop worthy of the na...

Re: Whip Storage
It's pretty easy to make your own rack with only two pegs. That coat rack seems like it'd bunch up the whip, with the overhang... I used a 1 1/2 inch dowel (pole I guess is better description) for my pegs. I'm at work (shhh) so I don't have the photo of the one I made, but there's a post around here...

snip Absolutely. We know that Michelangelo didn't create 1000+ copies of the Statue of David, BUT he did do the one standing in Florence. Are you saying the little plastic David I bought outside the Duomo isn't SA, I mean, made by Michelangelo??? :rolling: Quick note: Michelangelo made the David th...

Re: David Morgan No Longer Braiding, so?
Personally speaking, the whip comes first, but then I'm not a "SA" kind of guy. Yes, I wanted an Indy whip, but the exact dimensions or whip maker aren't at the top of my list. I first started researching getting a good kangaroo bullwhip about 6 or 7 years ago. A quick google search lead m...

You know, I grew up playing with cheap rope-core leather whips (from Mexico I believe). Sure they only lasted three years or so (and this is with a 12 year old me wrapping pine branches and swinging with it), but I had a lot of fun with them and did all sorts of cracks. I got a Strain last summer (2...

Beautiful whip. Like someone said above, I usually don't care for colored whips either, but those colors have changed my opinion of them. Well done, Adam. Very cool collection. I've only got a few swords (carbon steel rapier + main gauche, a LOTR Gandalf sword I found for $40, and a pair of stainless steel katanas I got in high school), and a couple of Nepali daggers (one is touristy and the other is the real deal thatlooks like it was used often...)....

I picked a 8 footer as my first roo whip mostly because of economics: I was already spending $450 on a novelty item (ie, something I really enjoy, but is not something I had to have). Adding another two feet upped the price betwee $100-150 Don't get me wrong. I love my Strain. It is a fine example o...
