There's no downside to wearing eye protection. Wear safety goggles when you are learning and get rid of them when you feel confident about your control of the whip. That said, with the mechanics of the whip, its going to be really tricky to hit yourself in the eye with the popper with force.

Don't see why they would need permission if they removed the logo. Lucasfilm bought the bags and can do whatever they want with them. If you ask permission then you don't need to remove logos. This started out life as a Wallpaper Paste Brush, cut it down and had to dye the bristles, still not dark enough yet.

A size smaller is just that, no foam involved. But as was said earlier, they fit snugger after bashing and seem to shink more after that. I've got a Wested, and I think my straps are shorter, but I the stick out problem also. What I did was take a bit of the excess black elastic from my grail diary and put a loop through with the buckles. It's a belt loop and it holds everything flat. Not screen accurate but it keeps everthing neat.
