I had the same issue with a Wings jacket, Sarge told me to hang it out in the sun light for a day, the UV will kill the chemical smell. I tried it, worked pretty well, most of the scent is gone.

I've owned a 1/2 dozen Indy jackets since I arrived at this site, from several makers including Wested, Wings, and G&B. The only two I have left are USW Legends, one imported Texas Steer, one American Bison. Both are excellent, though different. Sarge is always great to deal with, he comes out t...

Lookin' good! Definitely not the jacket for the stitch counters, but who cares, neither is my wings Steer hide. You can't beat a jacket that looks the part, wears in well, and only cost you $100.00!

I love my imported steer, and the price can't be beat. It's considerably heavier than the accepted screen accurate lambs, or any of the goats, which is one of the things I like most about it. I can't get attached to a leather jacket that feels like a windbreaker. I find the fit is far better than an...

It took a few tries, but settled on a Wings Legend in their imported Texas Steer. Wested lamb was way to light weight, G&B's didn't fit me well, Wings Sig series, didn't cut it for me. The Legend fits excellent, the steer is heavier than any of the other manufacturers lambs and goats (my prefere...

Hey Guys,

I've had both, G&B in 44 and 44T, and CS USW in XL, and the XL Wings was a tent! According to their sizing chart I would have landed in between the L and XL so I went up, wrong move, sold it on down the road. Best advice is to try and get actual measurements.

I know, it needs to get out on the town more often. The brown one is broken in, like an old friend, so it goes out most. The ribbon is very close to the felt color, just hint darker. I didn't pick the ribbon color, just let Steve put on what he figured was correct.

Hey John,
Thanks for the offer, I gave up cigars years ago, so you can smoke it for me.
When I said an 1/8, I was talking sizes not inches. I guess that's actually one "hat size" difference not an 1/8 of a size, but you know what I mean.

All I can tell you is that: 1. UK sizes are the diameter of a circle having the same circumference as your head measurement. (i.e. measured circumference divided by pi.) 2. US sizes are uniformly 1/8 larger than their UK counterpart. 3. I don't know why that is. It can't be the use of a different d...

Not sure where the info about Canadian zippers being left hand like European zippers comes from. I've lived here all my life and the first left handed zipper for a man's jacket I've ever run across was on a Wested Raiders. It's definitely not the norm in Canada, or with Canadian made clothing.

Is it marked 38 S&W CTG or 38 Special CTG on the barrel? Not that it's a big deal since it's deactivated, but the two cartridges are different and not interchangeable. 38 S&W or 38/200 as it was called in the UK would be a British contract gun.
