2015 US Wings Legend steerhide Imports?

Post by Photoss »

I've been reading all the threads I can find regarding the US Wings Legend Steerhide import jackets, though most of them are from 2012-2013 (minus a thread or two from last year). Has anyone bought one recently? Any opinions on or consensus on the current batch? How is the recent fit (I'm a 44) and colour?

I'm on the lookout for a (fairly) accurate Raiders jacket that I can use and beat up and use for many years, and I like their current price. My 12+ year old Wings cowhide was a decent contender, but not perfect (I sold it a couple years ago), and I'd get another but the current Wings signatures are too far out of my price range. On that note, I've never had any luck with Westeds, and Todd's was too flimsy for me (despite its accuracy). Any other thoughts or recommendations in the $250 price range? :-k

How about a used jacket with minimal wear? A per-owned G&B would be almost indestructible.

That would be perfect! Unfortunately, easier said than found (unless you had a lead on one). Been looking for a while now. :|

I love my imported steer, and the price can't be beat. It's considerably heavier than the accepted screen accurate lambs, or any of the goats, which is one of the things I like most about it. I can't get attached to a leather jacket that feels like a windbreaker. I find the fit is far better than any of the others I have owned, which includes Wested, G&B (both lamb and goat), and a Wings Signature. The big fit difference is the shoulder construction, it is built like a proper jacket and sits on your shoulders without falling backward like the actual Raiders does. I was absolutely convince this was my final Indy jacket until I visited Wings a couple months ago and tried on a Bison Legend, it was absolutely stunning, but at 3.5 X the money I haven't made that leap yet.
