Aging Stainless Steel

Hey folks. I've a couple of stainless steel (matte) buckles that I want to artificially age, but I don't want to take sandpaper or steel wool to them -- they've already a few scratches on them and it doesn't look natural at all. Anyone here have experience/suggestions in distressing such a metal, gi...

I was looking at Wested's online order form earlier today, and in the "lining options" section it lists "cotton selisia" as an option. I feel pretty silly asking, but what exactly is selisia? I haven't heard of it before, and so far my searches haven't turned up any results.

I would go with the rubbing alcohol...you might want to try a lower concentration to be safe (50% etc), the higher stuff may remove color on some leathers - it did on one of my non Indy jackets.
I second this recommendation. 50% worked like a charm on my lambskin jacket.

The only way I can think of right now, off the cuff, is applying alcohol or acetone, but it would be extremely difficult to do this evenly on the jacket's surface.

I wonder if leaving it out in the sun for a while may have a more "even" fading effect. :-k
