Yeah, it doesn’t sound too promising. The only idea I can come up with involves reattaching the strap at the front and bringing in the seem there, but it would leave a shape more fitting to a woman’s curvature at the ribs and waist.

I don't want to get rid of it. I really like the jacket and have been wearing it for years. It looks great with all of its natural distressing. The liner is finally going, too. It just ripped at the left corner of the inside pocket from carrying my cell phone in it. My only qualm is the excess room....

I can attest to the custom fiasco. I ordered a custom hero in goat, size 42. The sleeves were so stinking tight. It looks really weird. My custom LC (2011, maybe) came with those curvey looking collars that the original poster showed here. The jacket didn't come out right as far as fit goes, either....

I’ve got an off the rack Wested ROTL from about maybe 4 or 5 years ago and my flaps were put together the same way you, the original poster described. The bottom layer isn’t curled under. It’s just cut. I’m wearing it now. If I were home, I’d look at all of my other Westeds, going back to about 2008.

The What Price Glory Jacket has a back that, to me, looks like the US Wings jackets. I didn't like it. The back panel seems too tapered. And the pockets look big, like the US Wings jackets. I didn't like that part, either. But, its probably put together well.

It's cool to see a distressing project using an old Wested. It looks great with the dye-job. I remember years ago, I was frustrated by those gray undertones. I had no idea that I could have just dyed it. Now I'm thinking about getting an old one to do this with. Thanks for showing.

My jacket turned out a lot like the pictures above, it's just that I did it by wearing it and it really, really did not take long to get the same effect, except mine also developed a patina from the leather rubbing against things like my seat belt. In my opinion, the undertones show up wonderfully.

I've had a washed lamb for a few years now and love it. It seems very durable to me and I've had plenty of leathers from Wested. The washed lamb distresses naturally and looks great. I have a new washed lamb from about maybe 4 months ago. It doesn't feel flimsy or anything at all. It's actually quite comfortable, too, so, I really like wearing it. It also has the perfect drape. I'm not crazy about all the creases, but I really love the leather. It is really, really nice to touch.
