I'm glad you and Michaelson chimed in before I did. I was going say that we need more information before outright condemnation of a known brand. However in both your responses you've filled in what gaps I needed. This is unfortunately a case of what separates a "Good" vendor from a "G...

So, I know they're not as popular as the Bapty sighted revolver. I'm hoping someone who does have one or both will chime in and perhaps post a "muzzle to muzzle" comparison or whip out the ol' micrometer and give H/W/L ect. On the Stembridge. I have a doner barrel that needs to be given a ...

I can't speak to durability or longevity. From what I was reading last night, my understanding is that the higher the plait count, the smoother the "feel/rollout."

Pros and cons to having more plaits in your whip?
In my search for a satisfactory whip. I've encountered many fine vendors. All offer a whip in 12 plait. Some in 16. Only a few in 24.
For general cracking (I'm no professional mind you) is there any advantages to going with a 16 or higher plaited whip?

Has anyone de-nickeled a handgun before? I picked a .455 hand ejector that has been chopped to 4" and the chambers reamed out to take .45 colt. The finish is an older nickel job. Not pitted or scaling yet but very thin in the high wear spots. Whoever did the work did a beautiful job, both the c...

Couple of questions:
1st- when buying a MKVII there are several original manufacturers. Is there one that's better made than the others?
2nd- are there ones, be it new or used, that have better internal features?
3rd- does anyone use theirs on a day to day basis?, how do the originals hold up?

So, with that being said. Would you guys consider goat sufficient? I'm good with layering as long as it breaks the wind sufficiently. I really like the look of goat, doesn't seem as stiff looking, but want the best option for my circumstances. So if cow stands up under cold wet use better so be it.
