Modifying the Webley MkVI

Post by Woodsrunner79 »

So, I'm picking up a Webley MkVI .455 that's been shaved for .45 acp. Now my question is about the grip as I'm very well read at this point on the dangers of shooting it with.45 acp.

Here goes. Have any of you preformed or considered having a round butt conversion done by a gunsmith in order to make it a better stand in for Indys Webley-Green?

I would think any changes to the handle would compromise the frame structure and make the gun a non-shooter.

Also, the W-G stands for Webley-Government, not Green as was thought for many years here. :TOH:

Thanks for the clarification on the "W-G". Yah learn something new everyday when you hang out here.

As to not being a shooter, IDK. Here's a site lift from a gentleman who performs such a mod.

Naturally, I'd leave the barrel as-is.
