Adventurebilt still in business?

Is Adventurebilt still in business? Steve's contact phone on the website is disconnected, and no email replies. Saw his business posted on a ripoff site and he has a BBB rating of F with numerous complaints. :(

Flathead,

I emailed Wested this morning requesting a sample. Just received an 'e' from Gemma saying it's in the post. It will be interesting to see how the two compare in real life.

Ken, I looked at the one Peter offers. Nice as it is, the distressing doesn't begin to compare with what the Chinese did. The leather has random small rinkles and the color varies as if it had faded in places or someone, (with great skill) had attacked it with acetone.

My first jacket

There came a time about 10 years ago that I decided I wanted an Indy jacket. It had been a number of years since I saw ROTLA, and I was so naive I thought Indy wore an A2 pilot's jacket. In December of that year Sears was selling Chinese A2 replicas, so I bought one. After a couple of days I realize...

According to the costume person on the DVD extras, all 10 jackets were brushed with a wire brush for the initial distressed look. I presume additional "distressing" was accumulated as the movie was shot. No mention of using acetone to create a "look" was mentioned.

Off topic, but diamonds are so expensive because DeBeers Consolidated mines controls most of the world's supply. As for NH gear, IMO, will have value if actually used in a movie. Even then, it seems like only well-known items, like Dorothy's ruby slippers, bring the big bucks.
