Minnesota, That's the best part. It was sort of a barter deal. I designed a book jacket for a friend in California. I usually charge $50 an hour for design work (maybe that's why I don't get much). I had Cabela's ship her the shirt; she had to order another one to get matching material for the pleat...

I designed a book jacket for a friend in California. I knew she was an accomplished seamstress, so for payment i had a Cabela's safari shirt drop shipped to her and sent her a picture of an Indy shirt. Here are the results: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a40/starman2005/indyshirt.jpg Except for th...

My first jacket
There came a time about 10 years ago that I decided I wanted an Indy jacket. It had been a number of years since I saw ROTLA, and I was so naive I thought Indy wore an A2 pilot's jacket. In December of that year Sears was selling Chinese A2 replicas, so I bought one. After a couple of days I realize...

Has anyone compared the WPG shirt side by side with the Wested? The WPG is definitely more screen accurate in the details, but the Wested shirt has a more accurate ROTLA color on my PC than the WPG. Jerry says his shirt is light khaki, but the pix on his website have a color more like Cabela's Stone...

When I first started posting here, a Keppler was pretty much the fedora to have. I took a break for a while, and when I came back it was all Adventurebilt. Until today, I didn't know Fedora made Adventurebilt. What Fedora said about Lee is true. I had to wait about 6-8 weeks for my 6X fedora. I aske...

Re Indy 4. I hesitate to post this., but I'm giving the production of a 4th Indy film about a 10% probability. The Indy story has been told. A story has a beginning, a middle, and an end, although Lucas doesn't tell one that way. We had ToD, ROTLA, and LC. Indy reconciled with his father. End of sto...

Just what IS the correct color for the shirt? I watched all 3 movies this past weekend and noticed some wide variations, depending on the scene. wrinkled pleats
I had a friend make me an Indy shirt from the Cabelas safari shirt. She used a new shirt for both the material for the false pleats and the shirt itself. The pleats came out more wrinkled than the rest of the shirt. It's not shrinkage, but part os the sewing process when you sew fabric onto fabric. ...

My MK VII smelled terrible, was badly wrinkled, has sonthing that looks like a boot ptint on it, something that resembles grease spots, and the famous black stipe. shirt pleats
There are seams running down each side because the strips are false pleats, not box pleats like on safari shirt pockets. Strips of material have the edges turned under and then sewn on the body of the shirt. If you look closely, you'll notice the seam continues over the pocket. This might indicate t...

Shipping to the US is $5.91. A caveat about the bags. This may apply only to mine. The bag is in good shape, fabricwise, except for a very dank smell. Peter's shirts were obviously photographed under flourscent lights, thus the color. The Soldier of Fortune bag is $19, but by the time you buy a Keppler strap, the cost is the same. the S of F requires some UNdistressing in terms of the metal componets.

I just compared the WPG disk to the original. The original disk is slightly larger in diamer and the edge turns up whereas the WPG is flat. The original is too far gone to clean up. Besides, if I was that much of a stickler for 100% accuracy, I never would have cut the original web strap off. :D Swi...

The Cabela's safari shirt is still the closest I've see, both in color and style. To make it about 95% accurate, all you have to do is find some matching fabric and have a seamtress or tailor sew the false pleats on. I hope Peter is able to keep his replicas at a reasonable price. This has probably been gone over at some previous time, but there is little, if any correlation between a color's name and what it looks like.
