Re: The Federation IV Display Page
Some sharp looking hats here, no doubt. I don't own a Fed IV, but I've always wanted one. I have always considered the Fed IV to be my "next Indy hat" (because I need one more...). There are finer felt versions of the hat out there. Anyone who has an Adventurebilt or one of Penman's lids k...

Stretch It Out
I have a Camptown fedora that just doesn't fit as well as it once did.
Maybe my head got too big?
Anyway, has anyone ever heard of stretching a hat?
The hat is a 7 1/8 which is my usual size, but it's a bit too tight.

I own both models. I have to say you can't go wrong with an Akubra in any regard, but like the rest said, the Fed is definitely the hat to get if you want to be as close to the real deal as you can get without getting into the masterpiece collection. I wear my Adventurer as my go to hat. It's been h...

I actually had someone comment on mine once about it "looking like the one Indiana Jones wears". When I explained it was, indeed, a replica, I was informed it wasn't accurate because it didn't have cuffs on the sleeve or chest pockets for storing gear. I didn't dare get drawn into that deb...

I have two pairs of Alden dress shoes, and they fit true to size. They are the same size as my 405's (10.5). But, they are both plain oxford-type shoes, one a plain-toe blucher and the other a wing tip. I would guess that other models would fit differently because they are made on different lasts. B...

It's been really cold and windy here in SE Georgia the last few days, so I've been wearing my Christys to work in the mornings. Michaelson was saying Sno Seal is the best stuff for waterproofing, and I totally agree. Before the relative affordability of Gore-Tex, I used Sno Seal on my duty boots. There is definitely an art to a long whip (10').

Take a walking step and pause when the rear heel breaks. Settle a bit to find your balance. Your head, shoulders, hips, knees and feet should be aligned in the direction that you want the whip to go.
