Re: Cockpit, anyone?
I like Cockpit USA. I have a couple of their jackets. That said, if I want a screen accurate jacket, I'm getting a Steele & Jones and if I want one with a traditional fit, I am ordering from Indy Magnoli.

Re: Singing the praises of Steele and Jones
In their commitment to screen accuracy, I've had trouble with the linings in my jackets as well to the point that I can't use the internal pocket. Even given that, I recommend them above every jacket manufacturer I've owned. I've owned Gibson & Barnes, Wested and US Wings and Steele and Jones is...

Re: RAIDERS Bag Strap Revelation
Were the Sam Browne buttons exclusive to the Raider's strap? I'll be honest, the Chicago screws are a much better way to secure the strap and I'll be sticking with those regardless, but I've also always preferred the darker Temple/Crusade strap with the roller buckle.

"Indiana Jeff" US Wings and Wested. The irony is when they put out jackets that were not slavishly SA, fans here turned on them like jackals. At the end of the day, the only way to produce quality jackets at a price point that is more budget friendly is to mass produce them. In order to m...

I would own a Magnoli any day, all day, every day. Same for some of the other vendors here. I would rather have no jacket than this jacket, but that is strictly my opinion.

Great video. I just want to let people know, there are other options to protect the integrity of the straps than inverting the buckle. Nothing wrong with that; I get it, but you don’t have to do that. I do leather working and you can use a strip of thing, durable leather such as horse hide and using...

Re: Screen Accurate Lambskin Thickness and Qualities
It’s possible to get a uniform thickness in hides if they are split or skived down using an industrial size machine. If the leather is full grain, there will be variations in thickness across the hide. I would not and do not use tape measurers to measure thickness. You need a depth gauge. The one I ...

Pecards has a conditioner with a slight amount of brown dye in it. It’s possible that may darken it sufficiently for you, but if you try it I would do it on the inside of the cuff in a small section first just to see how the results pan out before going full bore.

The outsole of an Alden Indy boot is not leather, with the exception of a couple of layers of the stacked heel. The will do just fine in a wet environment, but do not expect them to be water proof; they are not.

70% of the U.S. population is overweight. The legend pattern is a nice trim fit. Then you consider that most people’s mid-sections grow as they age, and Indy was big in the 80s and early 90s...This is probably an economic decision.

That’s true on both accounts. There is a bit of extra room. Maybe I’ll have a tailor let it out 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Might not be too bad. I really like the jacket on the whole. Thought about selling it to put money toward some necessities/bills...but that would be too responsible of me!
