Re: approx $$ of a Wested vs Steele & Jones
I think you need to get to the root of what you want. We all end up buying multiple jackets chasing the dragon so you to speak, trying to capture what we see on the screen. If you narrow it down to the true essence of what you want, then spend whatever it is to get the product you desire, I think yo...

Steele and Jones Temple of Doom ( with a few mods)
:TOH: Back in March I decided I wanted a more fitted Indy jacket. As I already had a Raiders from Steele and Jones and was really impressed with Diego’s work, I knew where to go. The TOD jacket really doesn’t get enough love. Perhaps it’s because the film is not as revered. I have also really liked ...

I had a Kelso at one point, but the collar was too big and I had to sell it. Their lambskin felt very high end though. I have a Steele and Jones Raiders in cowhide and their customer service is unmatched by any other vendor. Im Very happy with the Raiders Jacket they made me in 2016. Just wish I did...

Re: My Indy jacket odyssey – Wested ordering and sizing – NEED ADVICE!
Update
Got a local tailor to taper the sleeves and Wested refunded me enough money to cover the costs.
Mick was great about it and dealt with the situation immediately.
Tailor was very impressed by the shrunken Lambskin. Has a very unique texture. Looking forward to breaking it in.

I’ve had jackets from all the vendors mentioned and no one tops Diego for customer service. His level of detail and patience with every one of my silly questions and dumb jokes is unmatched. Quality of product is also fantastic. In the queue currently for my second from S&J. A TOD jacket. I also...

Don't forget, our jackets are completely made-to-order, so we can customize/modify existing styles, like the Vintage Adventure Jacket, any way you like. Also, though we don't have horsehide, we can source a thicker/heavier cow for you to get you the robust jacket you're after. :TOH: Thanks Indy Yes...

Update First thanks for all the feed back guys Of the three vendors mentioned, Wested is the only one who makes a jacket in Horsehide currently. They are not doing major modifications however due to Covid and I’m Not sold that I will find a model where the collar doesn’t drive me nuts. I have ordere...

Early 20th anniversary jacket decision
Hey all So I just recently looked at when I originally joined COW. 2003. This February it will be 18 years. That’s two years before it’s two decades! Now of course I have not been an overly active user. I think I’m still considered a digger or something lol. Even so I have observed quite a bit in th...

of all the jackets I have purchased and then sold, I only regret selling the wested horsehide I had. It was my first jacket and other than the collar, was perfect.

Steele@ Jones Indy jacket for hipster ( with pics now)
I'm not actually a hipster. I don't have a sense of entitlement or pay premium prices on clothing to only look homeless.(not all Hipsters.. but they are ruining it for the rest of you) I however like some of the styles associated with these moustache sporting dudes. I've always leaned toward jackets...

problem with Bill Kelso website
Evening everyone Just browsing the bill Kelso website as his relic hunter jacket looks fantastic and I found it very frustrating. His sizing chart just states the basic sizing but no info on what the other dimensions are such as jacket length, sleeve etc.. I'd like to order one but as I have read em...

well to be honest..I do not doubt your experiences but before we have a lot of possible negative feedback, perhaps my experience can shed a little light. I really think someone has to put a book together on this mystery. Even though there may be a limited number of "gear heads" in the world, I still think it would be marketable for the average reader. I really believe that it is the mystery of the jacket and Fedora in Raiders that is respon...

also a happy customer.
I have an AB from Steve on order for I think November of this year, but have received a Wested HH raiders jacket that fits perfectly. I love the thing. It fits in with my regular style and no one knows its an Indy jacket. I just get compliments about how original and great it looks.

I was also wondering this.
Thanks for the info Fedora. So if the crown's height can only be shortened so much before you lose the Indy look, what other modifications ( brim dimensions etc..) would you use when creating a custom made fedora. Lets say..to make a hat look good on a small round head.' That being of course i...

Still a ways to go. but liking the results thus far. I plan to let my Wested age naturally as I really do like the look of new leather.
Any thoughts, suggestions etc..?

The Todd's standard arrived Saturday morning.
