Re: Todd's Jacket Owner's Thread
I'm actually 6' 2" and about 140lbs. I measured myself so many times before getting this jacket, thinking the Medium would be too short on me. I was mostly worried about the sleeves, didn't want them to be too short. The Large I've got, there is plenty of room to move around in it and if I rai...

Re: Todd's Jacket Owner's Thread
How tall are you, James? Just curious as to your measurements versus the jacket's measurements. I've seen RayR talk about being 5'8", 170 and wearing a L, yet I'm 5'10", 180 and wear a Medium (I went with the M because my jacket size is usually a 40R). I toyed with trying a large, but my M...

Re: Todd's Jacket Owner's Thread
Got my new Todd's 2013 M to replace my Todd's 2009 L. My first impression was that it felt a bit short but when I compared it to my 2009, it seems almost the same length. If it is shorter it is very miniscule. When I put it on with some more Indy-like pants today it seemed fine (as opposed to the je...

Re: Todd's Jacket Owner's Thread
Great jacket Gorak, but I agree with you that the striations are way too much for my taste. I was considering getting a new Todd's (I have one of the older ones that's still awesome) but the leather looks way too patterned for me. The back definitely looks like dinosaur hide!

Re: Todd's Jacket Owner's Thread
So I bought a Todd's standard in 2009. After reading all these posts it's got me wondering if it's worth an upgrade to his newest batch! Opinions? It's not my main jacket (I have a bunch of great coats I rotate around) but do those of you with experience think the difference is enough to warrant sel...

Re: Fit under the arms?
Thanks all. I guess I've just gotten used to really fitted jackets. I have some vintage WWII jackets that fit more "fitted" and I quite like that fit I've discovered. Where the armpits are much closer to your actual arm pits without as much bagginess there. Like if I take my Indy jacket an...

Fit under the arms?
So it's been awhile since I've been here! A while back I got a Coyle's standard jacket and thought I was done with my quest! However, recently I've been finding that I don't think I like the fit under the arms (not fault of Coyle's, I'm sure that's part of the downside of buying "off the rack&q...

Which Pecards product do you use?
I have a Todd's Standard (and also a Magnoli U-boat jacket) and was wondering which Pecard's product would be best. My roommate has a tub of the "weatherproof dressing" in the black tub with the red label that he got for his leather bag strap and I used it on both jackets. Seems to have be...

Re: Which jacket fits me better: a poll!
If I may ask, how much do you weigh, and what's your jacket size as in 38, 40 and the like? I'm asking for myself, I'm trying to figure out what size I'd need to get. And this could be a nice comparison guide. Randy I am 5'10", weigh about 170. I think I'm a 40R jacket size (that's usually wha...

Re: Which jacket fits me better: a poll!
Unless money's an issue, keep 'em both. If you're wearing tighter clothes throw on A. If your going a little looser 'cause of too much dinner look go with B. I love A because I like the tighter, fitted "indy" look unless you're a big boy and I think you wear A well. But, if you have to se...

I originally ordered a Todd's standard Large, but then thought a medium might actually be a better fit. Now I can't decide which I like better so I thought I'd get opinions here! Any other tricks to keep side straps from slipping?
I'm loving my Todd's Standard more and more but the left side strap tend to slowly pull looser as I wear it. The right one doesn't seem to do it. If I go ahead and just feed the straps back through so they end up pointing toward the front, then that locks them down tight, but I'm wondering if anyone...

Got my Todd's Standard!
I first came to Indygear many years ago when I first hear of "Wested, The company that made the original Indy jackets". Over the years I've constantly debated whether to get an Indy jacket and if so, which one. I kept talking myself out of it because I knew it wasn't a jacket I would proba...

Todd's Raiders pattern (is it the original?)
I've seen a few passing references around the internet about a "long story" of how Todd somehow ended up with the original Raiders pattern. I've searched these forums and Googled but can't seem to find any more info on that. I didn't see it in the jacket history summary either. Anyone have...

After more research I'm now torn between the Todd's Standard and the Wested Special Offer Soft Goat (I've edited my original post to reflect this). Should I worry about my MkVII?
I just got my original MkVII from WPG. A friend of mine got one a few weeks ago and the webbing holding one of his strap loops has almost completely worn through. Now we have no way of knowing if this was because the bag was old or because he washed it multiple times and "distressed" it us...

Got my Magnoli. Overall, GREAT bag. Highly recommended. A few quirks however led me to go ahead and order an actual MkVII from WPG. The biggest thing to me was that the front pocket only goes down to the first seam while actual MkVII go all the way down to the bottom seam. A very minor thing that pr...

How do you hang your jacket (specifically a Todd's standard)
My roommate got a Todd's standard and is trying to figure out the best way to hang it. He put it over the back of a chair one night which left some dimples which are slowly disappearing but we figure any hanger would probably do the same and leave bumps on the shoulders.

I'm wondering if there's anyone in Austin with an Indy jacket who might be willing to let us borrow it for a small comedy short we're making in conjunction with the release of the new Indy movie. It's just some silly dialogue for one day, no stunts, nothing that would endanger the jacket and as a pr...

Different types of leather?
Does anyone know: a) exactly what kind of leather the Wested Doctor Who jacket is made from? I'm guessing cowhide since someone on another website was complaining about how heavy it is (which I don't mind at all). Is it "top grain" cowhide? b) What the original jacket would most likely hav...

What really baffles me is that the billy3ci's predistressed jacket from Wested (seen in this post) seems to be a little more accurate. I find it strange that both our jackets are from Wested but yet mine seems less accurate. You would think they would use the same pattern.
