Re: My New TN #070 Raiders with TNIP!!! (Pics in the Posts)
Nick, that Vintage Goat is awesome. I mentioned it at the summit, but it has almost the exact same color and consistency of my Aero Horsehide, and when I walk around in that thing I feel virtually bulletproof. That one also stands up on its own, even though I've had it for a few years now and have '...

Re: Adventurebilt ( US ) and Customer Service
I want a pancake finish on my next AB. Dealing with Steve was dealing with a consummate professional, which is funny, because he hasn't been pro at this very long. In fact, when this first started to get off the ground, you got the impression he was like a man being dragged behind one truck full of ...

Re: Wetting down a Fed IV. What would happen if.....
When I was traveling in Thailand I arrived in Bankok in the middle of Songkran. When I arrived at the hostel I was staying in I looked like SoC Indy, everything was wet or dusted/caked with a cornstarch and water solution. I have to say though, my AB looked GREAT!

Re: Pictures of your HJ Poet!!!
I'm wearing an HJ Poet in my avatar, if memory serves correctly it used to be whiskeyman's. Fits a little snug now and could use a bit of a reblock, but a VERY raiders fedora. It's semi-retired now that I have the AB, but I love the hat and would be hard pressed to part with it.

Re: Wetting down a Fed IV. What would happen if.....
I might be wrong about this but I read once that once a felt hat has been soaked completely through most haters recommend a reblock. Something to do with the core fibers of the hat getting wet and leading, almost inevitably, to taper. I'm not entirely sure though, maybe one of the hat gurus will chi...

Re: RelicRaider Lighter Review
I love my RR lighter as well. I have one of the 1940s replicas with the metal/epoxy hybrid badges. I forgot I had it in the watch pocket of my jeans last week and accidentally washed it in the laundry. Luckily, those Zippos are made to last, and after drying it out and refilling it it works like new...

As someone who is wearing the item of contention a good deal of the responsibility of a given negative encounter rests squarely on your shoulders. Hat bashing is a constant work in progress, and I've only ever become happy when I've let it all go and said to myself, 'Screw it, I'm just going to wear it in.' Don't baby it, be as rough as you like, it can always be reblocked and will likely become more cooperative with wear. I know that wasn't o...

I did the exact same thing when my ring attachment broke. The webbing has a tendency to fray against the metal ring, especially if the weld (or solder) closing the ring is raised significantly like it is on mine. I just cut out the tiny useless pocket and fashioned it into an approximately shaped pi...

As many others here can say, the 'official' DP fedora was the first Indy fedora I owned, and while I had it I loved it. I knew it wasn't 100% screen accurate but I didn't care because it was mine. just a quick FYI, that's a MKVI they've got there, not a MKVII. For many people it's a close-enough alternative, but it's not stricly a screen accurate bag. That guy is definitely a gearhead.
