The buckles provided by NH fits a belt 3,8cm wide. However distressing with hot water makes the leather shrink, so 4cm is recommended cutting if You intend to use this techniqe.

someone mentioned this before, I think..the side straps are about 1 inch lower on the new cut. I think I like them higher up.
