Corduroy sports coats really lend themselves to the dark brown of an Indy Fedora, be they tan, camel, brown, forest green or moss.

This is more of an autumn/winter garment, but I believe every gentleman should have a couple of real corduroy sports coats, suede elbow patches included.

Kentucky, how does using new ribbon made exactly like vintage equate to "doing something wrong"?

To my knowledge, Steve, marc and Oak are using the best there is, and the best us regular folks can get is the stuff provided by LLS, which is excellent in and of itself.

I would certainly hope that a leather jacket, worn for protection from the elements, wouldn't shrink to where it didn't fit simply because I got caught in a shower.

I don't wanna be the lone voice of concern, but is it lighter looking than the pic on their website?

The jacket above has a mid-range brown, the one on the website is dark chocolate, like a black/brown.

Will it darken with age?

Is the lighting difference that dramatic?

Search under "waterproof" and you'll find references to two products... One is Scout weatherproofing spray and the other is B & L. Steve Delk and some of the other old "hats" prefer B & L, but plenty of hardcore gearheads trust Scout.

Waitaminute... I owned a Stetson Temple, and I adjusted and reshaped that crown a time or two. There's no way that crown was 5 1/2 inches when open, much less shaped. Mine measured 5 1/8 when open. I didn't call, but I fired off an email asking if the largest size would work for me or if a slight stretching was feasible. We'll see what Berkley says. Since it doesn't have a sweatband and it is a nice, soft weave of ecuadorian, I may just go for it anyway.
