http://img82.exs.cx/img82/5959/wwibag.jpg Here's my modified WWI bag. From what I see, the differences in yours actually work out to the Indy fan's favor. There are no D rings on the front, the buttons are not push through, and the color is a perfect green. I actually dyed mine, and the color has f...

Ah,come on. It is just a piece of felt. You guys are talking like it is the gold idol or something. Fedora I don't know, what's it weigh? That thing might be worth more than gold. :D And Jerry, that was a very mean, yet very clever idea. I'm proud of you. Maybe you should get one of tho...

found a "new" strap buckle today
Today, as I was opening my package from Tapco with my rifle straps, I found a pleasant surprise. I totally forgot that I had ordered a $4 Danish haversack along with the order, and I remembered one of the reasons. Besides looking like a nice bag, it appeared to have 1 inch buckles on it. http://www....

. I was just glad that modern day kids recognize and are familiar with Indy so that he can continue to be an American (fictional) icon. That's so true. Indy's staying power is amazing. As for me, I was flying all night, making this was the second year in a row I was on an airplane for all night of ...

Don't practice in the street. Instead find a grassy area that will be much better for the life of the whip. As for treatment, the whip itself rarely needs to be taken care of. In fact, if you condition it too frequently, it will be ruined. The fall on the other hand needs a little more care, and sho...

Thanks for the pics Jerry, and for the find Ace. I really like the way those look, especially the buckles. In fact, I like them so much that I copied you and bought 5. They'll work perfectly on the 3 bags I have that need straps, and these are a heck of a lot cheaper than making them on my own. And ...

The first time I treated my homemade strap, the same thing happened. I just kept buffing it over the span of a few days until no more dye rubbed off, and it's been fine since. I even wear mine without a shirt a lot and it's unaffected. However, if you don't trust it, I believe Lee Keppler recommends...

Alcohol and acetone have the same general effect on the jacket, but acetone is much stronger. The alcohol doesn't take off nearly as much dye as the acetone, as the acetone gets deeper into the leather. The alcohol seems to just take off some of the surface chemicals. Also, after a few applications ...

Thanks Hemingway, everything makes sense now. I never knew those were referred to as members only. You guys are right, they don't look at all like a true bomber jacket, let alone a Wested Indy. All right, I dug up a post a made a while back just to show everyone what I was looking at. I finally got screen grab software, so here's a shot of the strange jacket I saw. Ok, I looked at this scene from a slightly different shot, and here's what I see. Indy has a wooden rod at the bottom of his closet used as a shoe rack. On it, he has a couple of rolled up papers, one pair of black shoes with a black heel and light brown leather soles neatly placed on the rack, and ...

Trevelyan might have been kidding, but if the shirt is cheap enough that it's worth playing games w/ it, I really did pick up two in case that idea worked...Trev, were you just thinking to have enough extra material to make epaulets and runner trim down the front, or would you actually take specifi...

you'd have better luck slapping the jacket against a brick wall..and crawling and rolling around on the ground, and have a lot more fun!! That would be a lot more fun, but you'd end up with a destroyed jacket. When sanding it, you have to be really careful along the seams or the thread will be torn...

I decided to distress my Wested dark brown goatskin
Well, after having my jacket for about 9 months, I finally decided that it just looked too darn new. I had planned on letting it naturally distress itself, but I realized that I would be long dead before it actually happened. Even after giving it a couple rub-downs with 91% alcohol, it was only slig...

I'm a little late on this thread, but here's my 2 cents. If you truly want a warmer jacket, the goat's not going to make a difference over your lamb. The Indy jacket is just not made for very cold temperatures, due to the lack of insulation and the thin leather. However, You could probably have Pete...

It's good to see someone else wears their jacket all the time. I totally agree about the accessibility. I hate having to put stuff in my pants pockets. With the Wested, I can load up the cargo pockets, put my wallet in the inner, and I don't even realize anything's there. When I have to put my walle...

If it's not that old, you might want to try just wearing it very often. You might have been doing this already, but I know my Fed fits tighter now than when I first got it.
