It's all speculation really, but there seems to be two types of clandestine mission being suggested here. I have a Wested Raiders in goatskin. Tough as old boots, but still pretty light and comfortable. It's my favourite, go-to jacket and gets a lot of wear. I love it.

Re: Wested Hero Legacy Turning Grey During Distressing?
Some years ago I got myself a Wested Raiders. The recommendation I recieved for getting rid of the shine was a simple soaking in cold water, then roughly roll it up for a bit before allowing it to dry out naturally. Be patient with the distressing though. I was too eager to dry my jacket out so I co...

Nice one Raider S.

Great find! Now that's some authentic wear for you. I wonder how it ended up in Germany? Perhaps left behind by occupation forces at the end of the war, or pilfered from the field during it? Thanks Bear. Year's ago I had a pair of modern-ish German paratroopers boots which I picked up from an Army surplus shop. They lasted me around 10 years. Sorry about the wait. Still haven't had the chance to replace the laces, but here they are.
