Re: HUFVUD HATMAKER - SWEDEN

Ah! I am so pleased that Mikael has posted here. I can attest to his skills as a hatmaker and craftsman. I sent him my Adventurebilt Henry for restoration and he did a superb job on reblocking it and cleaning it. His work on my har can be seen here http://www.hufvud.com/blog/renovation-project-i-adv...

Does it count to post an AB Henry here?? I hope so! Either way, this thing was built for adventure! This is it most recently. I had reblocked it a few months ago and it has kept its shape quite nicely while taking on new characteristics. *No artificial aging here has taken place.* http://i1268.photo...

Cannot wait to see more.

Thanks Jeff! They actually have a single set of pleats so that is a bit more in line with it the original. I just know they are a bit sand/mustard colour and I know thats a bit more of an LC look.

I am so thrilled to get the Michaelson approval! You are right, the horsehide will probably look better than me by the time I have to replace it!! Now that I am working in commercial archaeology it doesn't get too much wear as I need to wear hi-vis and such but I still do wear it often.

Aldens in UK or EU?

So my Red Wings have worn out and they need to be re-welted which is going to cost about as much as a new pair of boots. I thought I would see if anyone on here knew where to find a pair of Aldens (or even the Frye Walter) in the UK or even post-Brexit Europe.

Thanks!

Questions about Wested jacket

So I had been giving some thought to buying a motorcycle and I thought that getting a Wested would be a great idea for a motorcycle jacket. True, they do but the only thing that would make me think otherwise is that the heel or toe do not have any metal parts to them. I think typically there is a metal heel or a toe on ammo boots, at least the ones I was checking out on WPG.
