Young Indy Boots

Post by wannabe »

Okay so I found these boots about a month ago at a Vintage Clothing store near my school. Fellow gearhead Gater told me to go there to check out the vintage tuxes they have. The place is pretty crowded and I find these boots and wonder of wonders they fit me like a...well...like a good boot should fit and were only $40!! They really reminded me of the boots Indy wears in Espionage Escapades and Adventures in the Secret Service with the higher rise and the toe cap. Let me know what you think...

Look like Brit/Canadian ammo or cadet boots. Over the decades, ammo boots had captoes/no captoes, pebble/smooth leather, and combinations thereof.

True, they do but the only thing that would make me think otherwise is that the heel or toe do not have any metal parts to them. I think typically there is a metal heel or a toe on ammo boots, at least the ones I was checking out on WPG.

I have a pair of Stacy Adams that are just like these. It's good to know I can call them Young Indy boots.

Can't see how Indy can wear them adventuring though....I slip and slide in my boots because of the dress shoe soles (no tread at all).

Ya, golpeo_rapidamente is correct, Indy also wears a pair of Chelsea boots for adventuring. These are what he wears with his suits. Browncoat I was thinking about getting the Stacy Adams for a long time, how do you like them?

Stacy Adams makes a good boot. They really are an iconic name and style and very well known. I get complimented more on them than my Aldens because people recognize them.

However, they really are a dress boot and made like a light dress shoe. I worry about their durability on every day wear. I wear them in the summers only so I know I avoid water (rain), etc. Even then only sparingly.
