I think the Magnoli jacket looks awesome - the hide looks a bit like than on my older 2006'ish or so Wested goat jacket, which is somewhat more stiff and heavyweight than their current goat hide. As for the embroidered name, if it was me, I'd go with my own name if I were going to have the jacket for everyday use. If it was to be used mainly as a costume piece, I'd go with "Mutt", of course.

How about using some regular leather shoe wax on it? This brand , for example, or just whatever your local shoe shop carries. I have a couple of different kinds of shoe wax at home; one absolutely colorless and one with a bit of brown in it. Both should shine up your jacket a bit, and the later kind...

Yeah, that does sound more reasonable. Both my 42 Westeds are 23" across.

I do! I had my first (and so far, only) whip cracking session a few weeks ago. It was great fun. :) Armed with my lovely new Del Carpio cowhide whip as well as a Rhett Kelley nylon whip, and prudently wearing sunglasses (having read the horror stories here), I had a lot of fun for a couple of hours....

Yes, the sleeves are quite a bit wider than on my old jacket, including at the armhole. The old was always a bit tight, so these are fine, I think.
