My 6 is my hero bag, whereas the 7 is simply for costume duty and only because Indy's was a 7. The pockets on the rear of the 6 I find incredibly useful, the main area is slightly bigger than my 7, but the main issue is the fabric. My 6 is a clean nice green which is very soft and flexible canvas. T...

The luggage is your only option IMO. I'm certain that the mail will get checked, and no doubt Custom's now have Taz 'tagged' as such... Or Taz, you could join a gun club, do your 20 hours or whatever it is in Tassie, pay up to $1000 for your licence/ membership, pay entry fee into the 6 or so compet...

now all I need (or someone) needs to do is find bags like this in australia, preferably melbourne! and cheaply. I've tried. No luck. Surprising how scarce they are here, given that there was an Australian Manufacturer of them and we are a Commonwealth country! I've only ever found two in Oz; One I ...

VeganGear - suggestions?
Recently, I was discussing with a friend the whole Indygear phonomena (which incidentally has rekindled my interest after a lull) and as she has chosen a vegan lifestyle we got on to the subject of what a Vegan Indy fan would be able to achieve. As hats are made from fur felt, and the majority of ot...

Nice. The Federation is the only Indy hat I've owned, you'll be pleased how hardy it is. On a side note, Katoomba is a beautiful town, very hilly. I'm glad you got a good view of the Three Sisters. When I was last there it was so foggy you could barely see the guard rail, let along the rocks themsel...

I may have metioned it before, but I've had my jacket for over 2.5 years, have never conditioned it, and only just now (especially after it got soaked in the rain several weeks ago) can I tell that it's not as soft and supple as it once was. I dont think you'll notice any deterioration in the leathe...

is it possible to actually buy these hats in sydney? Nope. You can only buy them from the shop in Katoomba - The Hattery - which is the retail shop of HatsDirect. They have a couple of Federations on a rack by the counter (well they did in 04 when I visited). Katoomba's about and hour and a half ou...

If the side straps are too tight, the pleats are wide open. If too loose they also stay open. Every time you turn slightly to look in the mirror at your pleats, they come open. Well that's just mine anyway... lol... Until I saw a photo that someone else took of me whilst wearing it and they looked f...

My Wested came in mid '03 and I paid a ####load of import duties. In total about $190 I think. Another member SAB, he paid about the same too, however, Rob got his in 04 and didnt incur any fees, so maybe the system has changed. I remember I was rather mad, because I hadn't expected such a fee to ge...

Dre, In terms of a hat, I think it's pretty hit and miss. When I first got into this hobby I searched op-shops for a hat and never found anything remotely similar. I found a few fedora style hats in ghastly faded tan's and such, all had tapered or had very small brims. No good at all. You may be luc...

I believe the prices are quite reasonable. Oh and wel...

It only takes one particle of asbestos erri-wan. It can sit in your lungs for 40 years before it does anything. It's expected it will be the plague of the baby-boomer generation soon. (I hope 'baby-boomer' isn't an Australian only term). They've already started taking asbestos related illnesses out ...

Re: hat
I thought leaving it in your car was a bad idea? Only if its a sunny or warmish kind of day. The heat build up in the car is what shrinks and tapers it. In a cold car at night, you have no worries. Idea: Go to any hardware store of K-Mart or Wal-Mart...buy a small plastic hat hook with the adhesive...
