Re: Shirt: What's with the vertical pleats?
The pleats resemble those found on Cuban-style Guayabera shirts. These were discussed here a few years back and I believe they were once (are still?) regarded as the inspiration for Dometakis' original Indy shirt.

Re: Second order of a Wested jacket: Custom ROLA
We won't fit into a ballerina's slipper, at least not at the same time. As for the poor girls dancing away with shoes filled with small change, I find it most cruel and uncalled for. But I bet they're all "no pain, no gain", the poor competitive lasses. Well - judging from the pics, jacket...

Re: Second order of a Wested jacket: Custom ROLA
Swindiana... now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time. A long time. Kidding... of course I have. Nice to see an additional leather jacket arriving at the Lars homestead! Bummer re: the specs though. Seems custom ordering at Wested is far from problem-free, judging from this and other thread...

Re: how often do you clean your jacket?
Oh, I shower quite regularly. On occasion, even in my jacket. ;) Clothes, on the other hand, tend to stay dirty no matter how meticulously I handle my personal hygiene. A jacket worn outdoors, soaked in rain and sweated in eventually develops a scent. Yes, humidity is a definitive factor too. Leathe...

Probably Cuban-style Guayabera shirts. Similar pleating - these were discussed here a few years back and I believe they were once regarded as the inspiration for Dometakis' original Indy shirt.

Re: how often do you clean your jacket?
Hm. Gearheads seem to be a smelly bunch... If worn a lot, a leather jacket will eventually reek. Not sure Febreeze and similar products actually cleans a jacket - AFAIK, it's a fabric refresher, not an actual product that cleans a garment. At some point, I'll have my Wested cleaned professiona...

That's odd. I ordered a new liner and crest for my HJ some time ago. Other members have also ordered crests without problem.
IIRC, I spoke directly with HJ in Cambridge, but it might be an idea to check with Swaine Adeney (swaineadeney@btconnect.com) as well.

I'd start with the Akubra as well. It is a durable hat and a nice entry point for the high-end lids.

Moose hide is tough. It's been used for leather garments here in Scandinavia for centuries, and is one of the preferred leathers for jackets worn by frowning middle-aged guys with expensive Volvos and corresponding paychecks. Moose hide is versatile. It's suitable for heavier-grain leatherwork as we...

What's so special about Indy's pants? Nothing much. They're worsted wool trousers, cavalry twill weave. Not chinos. Not run-of-the-mill K-Mart khakis.

As you may well know, the firearms situation here in the Old World is somewhat different. I have however laid my grubby paws on (and fired) a bunch of hunting rifles (mostly Swedish and US ones) and shotguns. As for the handguns, opportunities have been scarce - I've fired a 9mm SIG-Neuhausen P210-6...

Be careful with sanding the buckle, unless it's a solid brass one. If it's plated, the plating may rub off real quick if you're blasting away with that sandpaper. As you can see on IndyFrench's pic, the NH buckle is plated... and distressed to a near-silver-y look. (Very ToD-accurate though...)The t...

Distressing all the way. When I got my Wested, I babied it for a couple of months - until I got a little tear on the sleeve from rubbing against a flagstone (a medieval one, naturally)... and that did it. I fired up the shower and the tumble dryer, whipped out the acetone, sandpaper and Pecard tub a...
