Regarding the leather, I have to disagree on the veg. tanning here. I am working with veg. tanned leather for more than 15 years myself. This jacket, in my opinion, was made from chrome tanned leather which most likely had been colored brown on the surface.

ahh, thats a good comparrison shot, thank you. How about the armmovement with that jacket. It looks like it is hard to put on but once you are in it there might be a lot of flexibility.

How is the movement in generel compared to your LC?

Ah yes, it is beaver of course!

It is a weired thing with this hat. I really love it as the felt and its collour is just perfect to me and there are 10 years memmory in it. But after all I am doubting it I would ever wear it again :roll:

@Weston: thank you. Actually, sometimes my hands are not steady at all when I am off work and I even tend to be a bit clumsy every now and then. What you really need is patience, staying focused and especcialy practice. Hope I will continue making them once in a while, there is still a quit bit more...

I think if I would tell the folks at wested that I need the gusset for better arm movement and not for screen accuracy, they would try to make the gusset for this purpose and wouldn't just cut a piece out of the exsisting arm (which would make it even shorter).
