Re: New to Magnoli Adventure Jackets
I haven’t owned any leather jackets from them, but I did see one of my friend’s a few days ago and it looked pretty solid. His was a raiders in cow. I’m not sure if I’ve seen one of their jackets with a Ribby lamb like was used in the film though.

According to imfdb they are indeed S&W 1917’s. Not sure if the grips are the same though.

I’d recommend looking into other cobblers to resole your current pair. If you really want new ones I’d recommend hunting eBay for a bit to find one in your size for about half the price of a new one.

I may be in the minority, but I find volleys to be a lot easier with my Jacka compared to my Morgan-styles Indy’s. But it took a bit to get used to the weight.

Re: Movie Theater Carry
Neither are good whips when it comes to cracking, aesthetically Magnoli is better, but if you want a whip that looks nice and cracks decently, I’d go with Todd’s Costumes. It won’t hold up as well as a custom made kangaroo whip, but out of the cheaper whip options I’ve seen it holds up the best.

I personally went with true sable. Sure it’s dark at first, but when the sun starts making the color fade, it’s gonna fade into the perfect color, while I feel like the other colors start off looking right, then progressively get lighter than you’d want.

Re: D-Rings on the Raiders MKVII
I’m not seeing a D ring. I think it’s a trick of the light. The fabric of the bag is bunched up indicating a round ring to me. I would expect the fabric to be flatter if the bottom of the ring was the flat side of a D ring. I realize these bags were made by many makers over the course of the war an...

D-Rings on the Raiders MKVII
I’m not sure if this has been discussed before, if it has please link it since I couldn’t find any. But, after looking closely in Raiders, it looks like Indy’s bag has D instead of O rings. It’s easiest to see it when Indy fights the swordsman, topples the Anubis statue, and before he enters the Hov...

The pictures didn’t work, and I don’t know about resewing the sweatband unless you’d consider yourself fairly proficient in sewing. I’d recommend folding the sweatband in half like they did for some of the original Raider hats.

Re: Accurate Raiders of the Lost Ark whip
If you want the absolute closest thing to what Ford used in the first film, go for Paul Nolan’s 1936 Indy. If you want something that is dead on accurate looks-wise, but with a more refined handling, Del Carpio. But, both of them have long wait times. Joe Strain makes excellent whips, I wouldn’t say...

The recent batch of Todd whips I’ve seen are pretty accurate, not sure if you got something different, but the Raiders looks thinner than most think. As for the weight, yeah, Todd whips are lighter than most high quality whips, so you’ll have to put a bit more power into them.

I think they’re the best Indy pants, you just need to tell them everything you want including fit and such, like they’ll do a jeans fit if you wanted. As for color and material, it all depends on what film you’re aiming for.
