My apologies if a thread for Thomas work is some where else, I looked back a page or two and didn't see one.
So I thought he deserves one.

He does do good work and we've all posted our hats in one thread or another, my self included.
I have ToD w/slight turn and a SoC non-distressed with no turn.

Thomas does some fine work and I find myself wearing his hat over my SoC ABL from Penman (which needs to go in one day for a reblock)

So I'll kick off one shot of my SoC no turn when I first got it.
And then today in the humid NH weather, mmmmm, it was glorious. Ya I like the NH humid weather.

And today, after wearing it since I got it in January.

So lets see everybody's AdVintage lids, new and old, in what ever felt fancy's your taste.
Mine is a Master Piece, felt is Old Sable with black/brown ribbon.

Beautiful hats gents! Guess I'll throw mine in the ring. The Harrison with brown sable.

Don't mind the gunbelt/whip/shoulder rig, was advertising my leather creations (except the whip... That's a Townsend!)

Thanks mate. Yup, made entirely from scratch for my etsy business. It's loosely inspired by the Clayton Moore Lone Ranger belt.

Great lids, guys! Nice to see a post with great pics. :TOH:

Would post mine, but they've been re-blocked by Andrea Tognarelli, so I guess they don't count as AdVintage anymore.

Also, nice leatherwork, baddates1!

Hmmm, I dug up some older selfies. Apparently I only have selfies with these hats for some reason...

Here is the LC fedora. The felt is soft and very nice:

And here is my Raiders fedora in Sable. I really love the colour on this one, (though the picture doesn't do it justice due to the lighting or lack there off). The crown is very stiff and the felt is nice and thin.

Thank you, Dr. Jones! Yes, I like the Raiders one more because of the shape, the colour and the thin felt. :TOH:

But I try to give them both equal time on my noggin'. :rolling:

With a subtle Raiders turn I must add. So I have the turn between 1/2 inch and 1 inch… This instead of the 1 inch (if that is the standard turn..?? )

Otherwise it would warp to heavy.

It is really an amazing hat… baby butt smooth 😂

And the medium stiffness feels very sturdy.

The ordering process is also very easy, Thomas is very

thorough in the sizing and requested specs!

I am leaning towards a Crusader style bash in True Sable.
That color looks so perfect in all the photos of the other customer hats.
Considering the vintage map liner with dark brown sweatband.
What do you think of this quote for sweatband?
“You have chosen wisely.”

Crusader bash is a good one!
The true sable is great! Wouldn’t pick anything else.

As for the map liner—> it really adds something extra. I was considering the dark brown sweat band but went for the regular light leather… it will darken up over time. If you wonder-> there is also a little dark line on the sweatband , so you will not see the sweat band itself when you are wearing the hat.

Ark101,
You won't be disappointed with Advintage! Thomas makes some, if not, the best hats at the moment! The felt quality is amazing.
I have an amazing Crusader from him in Beaver with map liner in true sable, as well as CS Hero (which is my holy grail in Indy hats now) and couldn't be happier. I also own a Penman for reference, which is also top class, but will go with Advintage anytime! Thomas is amazing to deal with and will answer all your questions! :TOH:

I finally got off my butt and ordered a Crusader from AdVintage. I've been missing only a few pieces to my LC gear and this was the largest of the missing pieces left. I haven't spec'd it out yet, but I think I'll go with True Sable as as nice as the Sable and Sable 22 look for alternatives, the True Sable seems to be the right color.

Apologies if this was covered somewhere else, but I couldn't find any info on Thomas's site - what's the difference between the Sable colors? They're both gorgeous looking colors on the Harrison models he has on the storefront and if/when they're available again would love to pick one up.

Great lids friends!

So in his little comparison chart, which one is "True-Sable"?

Is it Sable or Bright-Sable? I just ordered a True-Sable and am not sure if that is the way to go or not...

I was also confused by this naming... And the colours for the hats in the product description look different than the chart too... It is hard to say on a screen, I guess, very tricky. ](*,)

I'm new here, so take it easy on me. :TOH:

Just registered to add that I ordered my Advintage Harrison on 06/14 (Raiders, w/ turn). I emailed Thomas before placing my order because I had questions regarding sizing and the difference between the Sables. I referenced the comparison chart posted above and he told me that actually the Bright Sable had been discontinued (at least for the Harrisons) and replaced with True Sable. He also told me that, in his opinion, the True Sable is more screen accurate.

I should also mention that Thomas was very helpful throughout the process. I had been on a wait list, and he emailed me an hour before they were updated on the site. He answered my questions and made it all very easy.

I can't speak to the quality of the product yet (should be here next week), but I'm looking forward to it. It will be my first quality Indy fedora after being a lifelong fan.

Thanks! I've been visiting COW for a long time, and benefitted greatly from all the reference when I finally decided to pull the trigger on some gear. This is the first time I've had anything to contribute.

I can't speak to the differences between the discontinued Bright and the current True Sable. Thomas confirmed that the True was darker than the Sable, and to my eyes (based on the comparison chart posted above and the pictures of the True on the Advintage site) the True is a richer brown that the Bright.

If mine fits and looks half as good as the ones posted above [-o< , I'll be a satisfied customer.

I think you will be satisfied for sure. I have two so far and the colours are gorgeous. Can't remember the hues since I have them for five years now, but they are nice warm colours.

A third had on the way in this True Sable. AdVintage does not disappoint.
