Exactly my thoughts. They replicated a lot, without covering the basics first.
Maybe they started off with another business plan and in the meantime realised their market can be aimed at reenactors and historical guns enthusiasts.
I’m seeing the Webley in 4th (not as good as 1st, but not bad considering it started over). The two Bapty listings are there at 41 and 70, but didn’t climb nearly as well as the Bapty that got scrubbed. Regards, Indiana Jeff Really cool about the Webley, has got a chance of being made. But about th...

Thanks. i Know its not very sa for color and with other things but i was looking to just make one that would fit my 22. it has breach action like a webly. The toe plugs are a bear to sew so anyone making these in bulk. hats off to you. That plug box stitch is really a challenge. Worst thing is it's...
What?! :x Neither gun was that far ahead of #3 that I would think they were artificially elevated. It's not like each got 10,000 votes and #3 had 1,000. Maybe Denix pulled them because they already made the decision to produce them and are now seeing what other guns rise to the top spots. [...
Great job on the reshaping, my friend. The crown is maybe a tad too short, but it looks very Indy-ish to me. And it suits you very well. Also liking the warm brown of the felt.
Well, I don't know about the US, but around the EU you can find them online in a lot of places. Denix doesn't sell directly, but there are a lot of retailers that are distributors, I mean...
That is actually the leather holster for the U-Dig-It folding trowel that Alan Grant has on his belt. I just haven’t dyed the leather and removed the brand name yet to make it 100% accurate. I had removed the shovel to get into Disney and later in the day haphazardly stuffed my sunglasses in it. :r...
Leather jackets should be conditioned ? Apparently less often than I thought. :rolling: But in general leather stuff needs occasional conditioning, especially vegetable tanned stuff seems more prone to getting brittle in my experience. And for chrome tanned stuff, like most jackets... it helps a lo...
I condition every 5 years or so and when I do its only light coat. When I first got leather jackets way back in 05 or so I was so afraid for it being ruined, scratched or dry out.. Ahh... if I only knew back then what I know now. The energy and worry I could have spared myself for..  If ...
Yup, I think I made pretty much every leather gear item Indy has, except the boots. Shoemaking is an entirely different skill, which I've yet to tackle. I made some shirts and pants in the past too, as well as a bunch of props. On my DIY wish list I still have: making a leather jacket, boots and ma...

That is very nice of you, I am sure a lot of aspiring hatmakers will benefit from this. It is always hard finding info all together in once place for such things (thinking of whip making now too). And when you actually begin making such an object we stumble on all kinds of unknowns, so it's awesome ...
On the slim chance you are located in the EU, I have a roo hide one made by me in the Cairo Bazaar. I am just a hobbyist not a pro maker or anything, but it is much cheaper than what you'll find elsewhere. Otherwise I would definitely look at Magnoli's whips, they are close to your budget, look the ...
Hmmm, I don't know, it looks to me like Indy sat on the bag and it kinda follows his behind's shape. It seems stretched by his bum and compressed by the jacket on top. Otherwise it looks empty, given how the edges pop up.
When you reference the whip holder being a snap-on, do you mean the loop that the belt goes through has a snap so you could put it on a belt while the belt is buckled? Regards, Indiana Jeff Yup, exactly. Comes in useful when hiking, biking. I don't take out the whip until it is a somewhat more remo...

Brass O rings on bags are used in Emperor's Tomb and Great Circle. In great circle there is also brass buckle on bag strap and brass D rings on jacket. You wouldn't consider making accurate leather gear for inside EU buyers wouldn't you ? Customs became expensive. I didn't know that, very cool! So ...
Well done, Bear. Ever considered doing a brass bag strap buckle? You could complete your All Brass Indy. Thanks, Indiana Jon! :TOH: Great gear-head minds think alike! :rolling: Yes, I definitely have. I actually bought the buckle some months ago and I also got brass rings to upgrade my bag to full ...
Looks great, Bear! Thank you very much, Canyon! :TOH: Wow, beautiful and well made. You often do leather work ? Thanks Jonesy! I would say yes, it's my main hobby, though in the last months I haven't done much. I had quite a few Indy projects last year and now I don't have much inspiration f...
WNY Indy, this just giving me hat buying anxiety. :rolling: And it was already very stressful. :CR: Cheers, Bear Maybe we should start a COW hat buying anxiety support group... Or maybe they should put a warning on websites selling hats- "Warning, may cause extreme stress" :rolling: -WNY ...
I liked by brass setup so much, that I decided to make the whip holder with brass snaps as well and use a light brown die for the leather: https://i.imgur.com/mXrSg1J.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/cNO1mIa.jpeg And I also made a snap on belt whip holder for the whip I usually carry on adventures: https://...
Maaan, those binoculars are gorgeous! Good find, Indiana Jon! The fact that you can see clearly through them is a huge bonus, really great considering their age.
The block looks great, proper job, my friend. Can't wait to see the lids you produce with it. :TOH: And you just answered an age old question I had... how to choose a block for a certain size. I always thought that the sweatband would reduce the size a lot and it was very confusing for me. :CR: But ...
Dang, my friend! That is really awesome. Making your own block is amazing, the hats you make will be really made from scratch all around! :TOH: The Cavanagh looks great and the sweat band too. Very nice, clean work. Looking forward to seeing your new tools and projects. Keep up the great work...
Hmmm, I thought that in Crusade it was just part of the "Scottish lord" persona and he never took it off. :-k No, although it might have helped with that too, he wears the tie in the car on the way to the castle, so clearly had a need for the tie before he even thought up the Scots lord i...
