Re: Bought a Magnoli Clothiers whip..not impressed

The darkening usually comes with age/use. I believe these are advertised more as costume pieces, right? if so it looks pretty good. I like the tight coil on it looks like the beat up ones hanging off Indy's belt. But as others, even Magnoli, have said if you want a whip for cracking a decent one is ...

It definitely has the makings of one. To the every day/casual fan I think it would pass. To a gear head, they'd probably pick at inconsistencies or go after what look you're trying to achieve.

But folks have reconfigured plenty of Stetsons. I think it's fine.

It depends on if it's pre- or post- diet. :P ;) Yes, they should be roomier. Yours look fine, as others said a tad too long. If you have them shortened, make sure the tailor knows to do a military hem. I've always wondered if I should take in my NH trousers a bit as since you shorten the legs, they'...

Yeah, I'm not sure if 'discovered' is the right term or not. Maybe more like 'theorized' but it did take on a life of it's own and become accepted as fact. I can get the same kind of swoop with a too-tight hat (my original HJ shrunk, or my head expanded—whichever side you want to fall on with that) ...

The plane scene had a huge dent in it (from Willie manhandling it?). You can see it when Indy looks out the window. This helps contribute to the taper.

Rewatching Dial of Destiny today and discovered they made an interior pocket to accommodate the dial—or half thereof. It's a large, sideways opening pocket on the left side of the jacket. Maybe they intended it as a nod to Raiders but then realized they needed an in-story solution to having it as it wouldn't make sense for it to reappear.

Personally, my favorite nod to Raiders is the Nazi getting run over during the chase.

I've just prepped this for the main site redesign and thought I'd share here something I noticed in the "Timeless Heroes" doc. I guess since Indy wasn't meant to use his whip much it was more decorative and the whip holder was non-functional. It's attached with a snap behind the web belt a...

Aside from the mushrooming, it's also too narrow. Ford would need side dents in his head for this to fit! I wonder if it was meant to be a change in attitude for Indy, like he didn't have the desire to draw that kind of trouble anymore or something. Maybe even his views on death—"my friend just died." Then when he had to, to save Helena and Teddy, he used a weapon. Part of Indy being "bac...
