I agree with texan scott that the first two hats are penman raiders, and ABD.

my guess is that the second two are garrison raiders, and AB raiders.

Story goes that Adam met Deborah Nadoolman, and she took his AB and rebashed with the teardrop to make it more accurate to what she remembers the Raiders hat looked like, and Adam just kept it like that.

I think why most people find indy fedora's to be too tall is the fact that we live in a ball cap era. We're used to seeing a hat that conforms to the exact shape of our cranium. As soon as we see a hat that has some height to it we think it's too much. It does take some time to getting use to.

Thanks for all of the info. I think I'm going to go for the import first and save money for a u.s. made. I was mainly worried about the quality of the leather itself. If the liner isn't perfect I can probably add a couple stitches to adjust it. Once again Thanks for all of the help.

You can still find jackets for that price range at flea markets, and thrift shops. You just need to know where to look and how to negotiate.

My custom penman is on order so now I'm just waiting. This will be a late christmas gift.
I will definitively follow the waistline advice. I plan on joining the Air Force next year for college money, so hopefully that will put me on a track of good exercise.

I'm in between raider's natural and skull whiskey. From a whip user's perspective, the skull is king for its throwing capabilities. But from an indy fans perspective, the raiders natural, just because.

My advice is to use it and crack it a lot. Try using it on dirt roads, gravel, and concrete. Don't overdo it as it could damage the whip. The more dusty the area the better. Hope this helps.

In my opinion every whip has a different and unique sound.
Longer whips will be louder than shorter whips. Also your enviroment will make the crack different.

What I do is if the headrest is leaning forward you can take it off and turn it around so it slightly bends
away from the hat giving you an extra inch. Thats my idea.
