Wyatt and Josie are in S.F. County, and, according to the Tefertiller biography, most are buried in Colton, by San Bernardino. Virgil is buried in Portland, beside his first girlfriend, not his wife. What is the nature of the line, a former crease? A hatmaker in Bisbee, Az., told me that when steaming a hat the steam should rise from a boiling "bubbling" water; a lesser steam source might cause "hairline cracks" in the felt. Perhaps an actual hatmaker here might comment or ex...

The derby was the most popular hat in the wild west during the latter part of the 19th Century. As for D'Jango's hat, his entire costume, was modeled on Little Joe's from Bonanza. I suspect Golden Gate hats might carry both the derby and D'Jango's.

Likewise. Hats off indoors is thw rule, especially when seated at a dining table. In the past hat racks were available, or check-in rooms. But I also use a chair if one is available or my knee. In the service the lid comes off indoors immediately. But during the past fifty years or so the etiquette ...

Moths? As a matter of fact...

Moths do damage fabrics. Or moth larvae do. Moths don't eat much, but they do mate and the female lays her eggs in dark warm places near to food sources. Any fabric will do away from sunlight. They seem to like moist sweat stains. The larvae will eat as much fabric as they can before spinning their ...

The quality most appreciated in beaver is in the nature of the hair, the individual hairs being like tiny hooks, so that the hair locks together, similar, perhaps to velcro, enhancing durability and water resistance. How Much Hats Cost in 1942

I came a cross a Dover 'Reprint', Cowboy Gear 1942. An old mail order catalog. Towards the back is the Stetson Collection. A fair number of hats, in the western style, ranging from $6.50 to $22.50. The median price is approximately $15.00. They were fairly pricey for the time.
