Colored shirts poll (fedora related)

Post by alanseijas »

I am wondering what you guys feel about different color shirts with your brown fedora.

I wear dress shirts of all colors to work, and wear my fedora every day. I don't wear it all day continuously, but it comes off and on throughout the day as I go outside. Anyway, I started this poll to see what you feel would be good and bad colors to wear with it, as I am starting to wonder if all of my shirts go well or not.

Please vote for colors of shirts that you would wear with a brown fedora.

Thanks!

I think the better question would be "What color shirt can't be worn with a brown fedora?" :junior: -M

Voted for "tan." But I see no reason you could not wear white or light blue.

Oh yeah, I did not list white because I thought that it was obvious that white matches everything anyway.

I have six safari style shirts, all different colors (stone, tan, green, white, medium blue) and I wear my brown AB with all of them (though not all at the same time, that would be silly). I think this could apply to dress shirts as well.

My favorite safari shirt colors are tan and green.

Mine too, but it gets a little monotonous, so I have a couple other colors just to mix things up a bit.

I really didn't need to post on this one since Mulcebar said exactly what I was going to say. A good looking brown fedora will compliment a lot of colors.

The only options I don't think would work with a brown fedora are black and grey. I'm partial to the dark blue suit with a dark brown fedora, so I voted in favor of a dark blue shirt (which I don't even have, oddly enough).

The poll only allows one choice, but I'd say "All of the Above." Depending on the shade of brown hat, the shade of certain shirt colors, and the color of other items worn (like belt, shoes, jacket, and coat) can make all the difference. But one way or another, all of those combinations and more will work with a brown hat.

The one to be most cautious with is the gray shirt color. Some cool grays (bluish) can clash, while warmer (redish and brownish) look match easy. To be safe, wear something else brown when you have a gray shirt on - a tie with some brown in it would be enough.

I didn't vote since I couldn't vote for all of them.
I wear my brown AB with pretty much anything with a collar. I really like it with Hawaiian shirts, and the louder the better.
Really, with brown being a neutral color, it goes with everything.

Make that another vote for this, as I don't pay a bit of attention to color comparison when putting on a brown fedora....any more than I worry about what color shirt I'm wearing when I put on a brown coat, as I consider the hat and coat separate items...outer wear.... and not part of the equation with shirt and trousers color combinations.

Then again, I'm getting older....so I guess in the long run I honestly don't care anymore. At least I'm wearing a shirt. ;)

I think a brown fedora goes with any color as long as the attire and style is appropriate. With button down shirts, any color would go well with a brown fedora. With t-shirts, probably not all colors. Bright yellow, neon green and orange not so much. Hehe.

Brown is a popular color for shoes and bags... If the color clashed with other colors, I doubt it would've been that popular.

I have no trouble wearing my brown hats with any color except black, and to a lesser extent, gray. To me, black and brown never belonged togther.

But every once in a while I'll see a piece of clothing that combines black and brown that looks great. I just bought a dress shirt with this combo. So I'm getting used to those combos, as well.

The brown lends itself to most colors. I'd skip the pastels, though....

I tend to match mg hats with the outer wear d'jour.
Shirts? Whatever...
In the warm weather, if it's not rainfall, it's straw, so it doesnt really matter.

I tried sock garters one time, but I put them on upside down and they kept pulling my drawers down...
