Re: RIP Steve Delk - October 2023

As the OP, I can't really say RIP. He took my money and never delivered my hat despite years of emails... before he stopped replying.

If you liked him or respected him, you certainly have a right to your feelings. But please forgive me for not sharing them.

Yes, but I don't know when. Haven't had a chance to fire it yet. I got it last Winter (or was it Autumn?) and the weather was kind of bad. And I misplaced my keycard for the range, and I've only recently gotten a replacement -- just in time for the holidays and the cold, wet weather!

I'm still waiting for my AB (ordered 11/30/07) so when I wear a fedora it's a Stetson. I don't do anything to it. It gets wet, it gets dry. I reckon hats are for keeping off the rain.

the main problem is the cylinder itself - too much play and that makes for an unsafe situation if someone ever fancied on firing it. Even if the cylinder was properly functional, it would cost more than the value of the gun to replicate the parts inside. I checked out Numrich (e-gunparts.com) and t...

I shouldn't think they'd be a problem. The cylinder is what takes the load. Without it, the cases would burst. So as long as the gun is in good condition they should be OK. I've shot WWII vintage 7.92mm Mauser cartridges in one of my rifles, and they worked fine. I don't know what 'rustless' means. ...
