Comparison pics- Artsee Resin Revolver,S&W Model 22 Clas

Post by Texas Raider »

Took some shots of my Smith Model 22 Classic I recently got next to an Artsee resin Indy revolver. The Smith is a .45 (of course) ;-). I have the smooth grips on it for the pics cause the resin Artsee doesn't have the medallion grips, so I thought I get similar.

enjoy-

Wow. The seam on the Artsee is really visible along the top edge. That's quite a jump at the base of the barrel.

Other than that, it's a really cool looking prop. Great comparison shots.

Nothing a little fine sandpaper and a paintjob wouldn't fix.

I'm not a "screen accurate" guy but looks overly weathered to me.

I've handled guns of the same vintage, 19-teens, but of course with seventy more years of actual regular carry under their belts (Indy's would only have about 20) and they aren't anywhere near that worn.

I have to agree. There are photos in the Stembridge and Bapty threads that show most of the bluing intact.

Yeah, I agree, a little too much aging. It's not AS bad in person, but no matter how I tried, I couldn't get it to not look grey or silver. You might also notice the offset cylinder on the prop gun. It's not lined up with each other on both sides. Also the whole thing is probably 10% smaller than the real one, probably due to shrinkage of the resin or something. These are no big issues, the prop gun is still awesome,,the best available IMO.
