That certainly IS a beauty... I'm really hoping my wife took me seriously when I told her I wanted a Penman Raiders Grey for christmas this year... Fingers crossed!

Re: Wal mart check out girl and my AB CS
I had a similar moment this weekend when I went into the grocery store. I was wearing my AB, with a Carhart coat and plaid shirt, my standard civvy uniform. I was running my my card at the checkout, and the bagger (a lady about my mothers age) looked at me intently for a few seconds. She said "...

Re: How does this happen??
I started with $40 wool Stetson Outback a few years ago. It's a real addiction/disease: I'm up to 2 Delk-made ABs, 1 Fed III Deluxe, and 3 vintage ( Dobbs, Resistol version of a Stratoliner, and a Stetson Sovereign, all from the '50s as far as I can tell). Still hoping the wifey will oblige me with ...

I remember when Steve was talking about that... wasn't it a copyright thing? We all know Lucas will sell ANYTHING, but he also jealously guards rights to EVERYTHING. Couldn't recall if he kicked up a stink about the headpiece as a logo...

Thank you all, gentlemen! I couldn't be happier with this old treasure, a valued possession of an esteemed member of our little fraternity. For some reason or other, I thought you were the only one that got one, Bink. Well... cool! I'll admit, I'm jealous, but I like the hats I've got pretty well, even my stinky beaten up one. Might I add (gotta get my brags in somehow!), I got my Sergei-tribute hat in the mail today. It's a beauty that...

No holes to speak of yet.... Key words here. His does. No one mentioned killing off an old hat just because it was old. I have one that dates back to the early 50's that gets regular wear. Thing is, it's in fine shape, is STILL rebuildable, and NO HOLES! I have another that has felt going back to 1...

I have an antique-store Resistol that I reblocked myself , on a block that I made myself , with a bow I made myself , and a JW Hats sweat, all hand-stitched by me . It's sweat stained, it's filthy, it smells of old grass clippings and wet dog when it gets damp, and it is not allowed anywhere but the...

I'm at the point where I don't get mad when someone makes a comment about my hat, but it DOES make me mad that people can't at least tell the difference between a cowboy hat and a fedora!! Come to think of it, people's lack of attention to detail has always been a sore point for me. The type of peo...

For Indy style, obviously there's no binding... but that doesn't mean it doesn't look good! Not sure if there's actually any durability enhancement; if anything, I would think that the ribbon would scuff up much easier than the felt it protects. If protection is it's main purpose, then you may wind ...

It's been a while since I've posted in 'The Fedora', but I'm back, and I finally took some pictures of the first hat I renovated on my homemade hatblock.
