The 1917 Colts or S&W are grand old revolvers. However, replacement parts could be a bear to find. Suggestion, why save your money and get the new S&W look alike. My gunsmith says they're pretty good. He does not compliment new guns that readily!! Yes I have one and an old 1917.

Anytime!! There are plenty of loading/unloading options for moon clips. Finding grips is always a challenge for vintage guns. Let me know if you find a source.

Go here for grips http://www.eaglegrips.com/1917.htm. They are very expensive!! Maybe try a gun show. If you find any other sources please let me know.
