Re: Three Questions for All Jacket Owners

My first was a Wested lamb Raiders, probably about a 44 short. I eventually gave it to my son and it fit him like it was made for him. He's taller and thinner than me so the jacket hangs just right on him. The lining pretty much is worn out in it and someday he'll have to send it off for that - the ...

Re: My Wested vs. US Wings jacket ordering experience

I had somewhat similar experiences with Wested and US Wings. I wore the Wested for years but it never was really right even after sending it back for alteration. And I also found the US Wings Legend to run big. I got one of those in distressed cowhide some years ago when he offered them at an introd...

Hey, 'selective' hearing loss can get you in trouble. I've been married a long time, and sometimes the 'tuning out' gets embarassing. I can literally 'tune her out', particularly if there's something else going on that I want to listen to. Then she says something like 'Shall I go ahead and put that ...

I'm a regular shooter and a musician. What hearing I have left I want to keep. What I've found, without spending a ton, is using the foam plugs PLUS a decent set of muffs. I shoot assault rifles and several kinds of pistols, and this really works. A variation that I just tried for the first time is ...

Re: How much would Indy's jacket have cost in 1936?

The thing that strikes me is how well the screen jacket captured the essence of the real '30s leather jackets (thanks to Mac's pictures). Also, the combination of leather jacket, necktie and fedora was very prevalent. We have seen that in many films in the '30s, '40s and '50s. Another thing you will...

Re: A way to be SA & warm?

How about a mil-type 'long john' top under the shirt, or the bottoms too in cold weather? 'Under Armor' makes some really high-quality cold-weather underwear too. I think if the jacket fits right with the long-sleeved shirt, a liner would make it too small. But, if your jacket is big on you, you pro...

The longest feature of any garment is the one that will show the most shrinkage, so the most shrinkage on a shirt will be seen in the sleeves. Faustianslip; I recommend you go as cheap as possible, all things considered. I have been negligent in updating, but my Mediums arrived and I'm content with them. I wash them and tumble dry, and wear them with no ironing to make them seem just a little smaller because they are cut BIG! Now that we're having a little cold snap I'll get a chance to use them with the jacket.

Okay. Fast delivery. Shirts look great and are of exceptional quality, but they do run large. I have some L shirts and some M.
