Re: All of the "Close Enough" Boots?
I've been wearing these close enough boots for over a year now, and they're pretty great. Other than being a little on the dark side of Dark Brown, they're pretty passable -- and comfortable. I highly recommend them for everyone who can't afford Aldens. https://www.amazon.com/Steve-Madden-Mens-Newbu...

Denix Dilemma
I'm having a minor gear dilemma. I recently purchased a Webley replica from Denix, and despite my best intentions, I lost the ball bearing that keeps the cylinder from constantly spinning when the trigger is pulled. Does anyone know how or where I can get a replacement ball bearing?

Okay, that's good to know! Thanks! They made it sound in the email like they only pick up completed orders from the factory once a week, which sounded odd to me.Glenville86 wrote:I have bought several jackets from them and they were not shipped on just one day of the week.

Does anyone know how often Wested ships out orders? I emailed them yesterday to see if there was a chance that I would receive my custom Last Crusade jacket in time for Halloween. They replied saying that they were picking up the completed orders from their factory today (Tuesday, 10/25) and shippin...

Re: Question about Soaking New Jackets
Since I have this thread going, let me ask you all this: what is the purpose of wetting/soaking/showering leather jackets? Is it JUST to get it to mold to your body, or does it have other benefits? Other than possible shrinking, does it cause any permanent effect on the jacket? Can one get away with...

Re: Question about Soaking New Jackets
You can really make it mold to you by getting the outside shell wet and wearing it until its dry. Rain water works especially well, it seems. No need to 'wash' it. Watch the creases form on the sleeves as it dries. So, what you're saying is I can get the same effect from just wiping it down with a ...

Question about Soaking New Jackets
I've seen a lot of people talk about putting their new leather jackets in the shower for a bit to get the shine out and make it form to their bodies better. My question is, is this done before or after Pecard's is applied? I'm a little confused as to what the correct order is for breaking in a leath...

Re: Copper Novapelle and Pecard's
Thanks for all the great advice! I think I'm going to get my feet wet in the Last Crusade repro arena with a Wested Pre-distressed cow. I like what Diego has been doing, and eventually, I'd like to get one from him, too. Any recommendations for which Pecard's I should use on Pre-distressed cow? I've...

Copper Novapelle and Pecard's
I'm thinking about getting a custom Last Crusade in Copper Novapelle from Wested. From what I've seen of the actual coloring, the Copper NP looks like it has good russet tones that fit the LC style, but is overall too light. I would like to darken it with brown tinted Pecard's, but I'm concerned tha...

After a coat of Pecard's, and breaking it in for two weeks, I can honestly say I'm in love with this jacket. Re: Finally Ordering a Wested
So, I took Michaelson's advice and used the Pecard's Weather Dressing with Brown tint, and the jacket looks darker. It went from a light caramel to a kind of chocolate color, and it looks much better than it did before, but not as dark as I would like it to be. If I gave it another thin coat of the ...

Re: Finally Ordering a Wested
Trying to apply too many coatings in quick succession will result in the same issue Michaelson mentioned, the leather reaches a saturation point so the dressing just sits on the surface. Depending on your climate and overall jacket usage, I would say to not apply a coating more often than every 6 m...

So, I placed my order on Wednesday, Aug. 10. I decided on the Shrunken Lamb with a 26.5" back, 27.5" sleeves, and requested an exact copy of the Noel Howard. Now, Wested advises that it take 14-21 working days to create a jacket. So, you can imagine my surprise when they sent me the Dispat...

Also, is it possible to distress a Goatskin jacket in an SA way? Or will you only ever get the grey tones? Because I want it to get that weathered look either naturally or with a little help from distressing, I would prefer it to have the warm, reddish tones that the lamb tends to have.

Thanks for the replies!
As far as sleeve length, some people say to stop at the wrist, while others say to measure to just above the first knuckle of the index finger. If I go to the first knuckle, won't that make the sleeve too long? Or am I misunderstanding how tailoring works?

I'd recommenced nubuck skin. 27 inches might be a little long. Ford was about the same height in TOD and his jacket was only a couple inches longer than the Raiders jacket - which was 23 inches long I believe. Thanks for the reply! I measured my Todd's, it has a 26" back and it rides high like...
