Be sure to use plenty of conditioner. I think it causes the sound. The tougher hides probably make the most noise (goat, horse and cow).

I have the same 'problem' with my ToD goat, but I don't think it's a bad thing. The jacket actually looks used this way, which is good imho.

This leather cream is basically the same as Pecards, I think. After applying it, my jacket is water resistant. When you're out in the rain, the droplets stay on the jacket and do not get absorbed. I recently received my jacket via DHL. It's travelled only five days from the UK to the Netherlands. Pretty quick in my opninion. I can imagine though that shipping to the US is a whole different story.

I applied the Rapide Leather Cream and it seems to work just fine. I suspect it is very similar to Pecards. It comes in a nice old fashioned can, which seems to have not changed in 50 years. Another good fit with this jacket style

There's not much information about what it contains. The tag only mentions that the cream does not contain any harmful ingredients for the leather.

If the Wested jacket tends to ride up at the front, I'm probably safe with getting an unaltered size. Also, the ToD is longer than the 'standard' Raiders, so I think that will also affect the look of the jacket so that one wouldn't notice a slight difference in length at the front or back.

I think I like the bigger collar, but I'm not too sure about that. The lenght is probably ok, since I don't want a jacket with from my sweater is hanger under. Also a longer jacket should be warmer in the winter.
