San Diego jacket

Post by parsa »

Hi, I'm new to the forums. My introductions were posted in the Lao Che (now Feedback) folder.

I was wondering if anyone has ever communicated with the folks at San Diego Leather Jacket Factory in order to get them to improve (read FIX) their Indy jacket? It would be one more source for an Indy-style jacket.

Hmm...I don't know, looks like a Wested to me. That would explan the delivery time.

It looks a little bit like a Wested but it has the cuffs on the jacket and there would be some serious false advertising stating it's made in the USA. So I'm certain it's not a Wested.

It definitely has cuffs, which would have to go. The pockets seem a tad big to me, too.

The cowhide is probably shown, and it looks rather thick in the photo.

Do any Raiders jackets have hidden collar and pocket snaps?

Yes, the LC one does have hidden snaps in the collar and at the bottom of the zipper and you can custom order them on other jackets aswell. All jackets have hidden press studs in the pocket flaps.

I don't know...after having a Wested I'd hate to settle for
anything other than the original jacket made by the
original man himself.

What could I add to this? Nothing!

I just finished reading your intro and I think with the number of adventures you go on you might consider buying a Flightsuits jacket. These jackets are built to last and you won't be sorry. The company is based not far from where you are. Check it out and see what you think.

Those cuffs look strange...

$235.00 is a reasonable sale price, but for just a little more you could own the 'real-I-am' from the man himself.

I know next to nothing about Flightsuits jackets as I've never owned one, but by all accounts it's a heck of a good jacket.

For my part, I've never regretted buying any of my Westeds. They make a great jacket at a great price.

OK, I'm silly. I didn't realize that Flightsuits was in El Cajon (basically San Diego). I'll make a trip out there to check things out. There are a couple Army surplus stores in El Cajon also, so I can get some useful shopping in. I saw a bunch of gray German trousers in G.I. Joes here in Escondido, that were nearly a dead ringer for Indy pants. They didn't have my size though. Perhaps they have them in the El Cajon store. They had a button fly and flaps on the back pockets and were some kind of wool twill.

For the Wested fans, don't worry... if I buy a Flightsuits goat jacket, I may turn around and get a Raiders lamb from Wested. Oops, I'm talking about buying two coats. Where's the antidote! Give me the antidote!
