LC jacket

Post by Indiana Gus »

Hello my fellow Indy fans!

Why is it that the LC jacket seems to be the least popular one of the Indy jackets which Wested offers?

Just as an observation, Gus, I think the TofD jacket is the least discussed and 'liked'. The LC and Raiders jackets seem to run neck and neck in terms of popularity. Speaking for myself, I've never really liked the huge collar that the LC jacket had, but that's the only thing I didn't like. Regards. Michaelson

I love the LC jacket. The wested I got is a LC with a Raiders collar. Like Michaelson, I wasn't too fond of the huge collar either.

Do you think it's the least discussed because the TofD is almost just a slightly modified Raiders? As far as I can see, it's only distinquishing characteristic is an extra inch in length. The LC has the press studs and larger collar.

I think most people like the original: the Raiders jacket, the Raiders Fed. But maybe I'm only speaking for myself.

Could be. The TofD was also the least 'used' in the trilogy, so it didn't get that much screen time, so folks really don't have any strong feelings about it one way or the other. Once again, just my opinion here. Regards. Michaelson

I just received the LC jacket w/the standard LC collar - I really like it with the larger collar.

I have a TOD Wested lambstouch and couldn't be happier. I really like TOD the film as well, but ROTLA is still my favorite of the bunch. Here is an interesting observation though, since the release of the DVDs alot of my younger cousins and nephews (I'm talking in the 7-12 years old range) have been watching the trilogy. Of course they know I love Indiana Jones so the tell me they've been watching 'em. When asked which of the 3 films they liked best TOD wins hands down. Why? Because Short Round is cool and funny. The other two; ROTLA and LC are kinda boring they say. Jeesh how the times change. Brett

This is what I would get next time. I got the standard LC collar and am trying to "fix" it now (see the thread abour collar shaping for that one). I would also get an extra 3-4 inches added next time, but I just like a longer jacket, so that's my personal preference.

I've got an extra two inches and I'm not sure if I like it. It makes the jacket ride funny when I have it zipped. My next Wested will be another LC, but will be shorter in length and have the screen accurate collar stand, plus the other mods I have in my current LC.

skywlkrinc,

I've found that to be true myself. It does not give it a good appearance to have this particular type of jacket too long, especially if you like a snugger fit. Having it zipped and sitting will tend to make the hem eventually flair out, mostly in the front, but also all around and give it something of a bell shape near the bottom, especially if the side straps are cinched too tightly and depending on what leather you choose to go with. Not a flattering look on most folks.

The longer length makes my handwarmers flare out in a wierd manner. You live, you learn.

I guess some jackets would look better than others in a longer length. I have a black leather jacket that is longer, and it looks great. It has a double zipper, so you can unzip it from the bottom several inches when you sit, keeping it from getting that bell look.

Again, it's all a matter of personal tastes, but it is always good to hear other peoples' experiences with options and changes you are considering.

Cheers!

I think I like the bigger collar, but I'm not too sure about that. The lenght is probably ok, since I don't want a jacket with from my sweater is hanger under. Also a longer jacket should be warmer in the winter.
