What's wrong with the original dark brown goat? I thought that is a good choice of leather to go with. Why's Wested recommending Cowhide instead? :? Have anyone read this article on The Age, an australian news site: The best reference site - www.indygear.com - revealed the secret that had been eludi...

Oops! Indiana James, you're right!! It was Airborne Express. I get confused because the Airborne Express courier in my area sometimes gives their packages to USPS to deliver to my place. Don't ask me why. But you're right, it was in an Airborne Express box. Cabinetman, almost missed your post...

SAB, Yep, I meant I didn't get a tracking no. for the package either. It came via USPS I think and the only email I got from Peter is this one: Your order no 2807 has been processed for production Cheers Peter But don't worry, it WILL get to you. I know the wait is intolerable, but we all went thru ...

Rocketeer was a really good movie set in the 1930s with an all-star cast such as Timothy Dalton and Jennifer Connelly, though it never got the recognition it deserves. Anyhow, that's a great-looking jacket and I have not seen one person wear a jacket like that to date. So yea, you'll definitely be t...

Magnoli, what an excellent comparison picture! :D This is what I wanted to see, a direct comparison between the Alden 405 and the JCrew (before and after darkening). I used the brown Kiwi shoe polish on my JCrew as well and the results were immediate. It darkened right away. The shoes are stiff out ...

Sergei, thanks for your info. I'm still waiting for LL Bean to restock their shirts and get one out to me. So most likely I won't have it until November. Like what you've said, I sure hope that the color comes out closer to stone than dark khaki. But since they don't offer their shirts in stone anym...

Thanks for all your suggestions guys, I might just fold it up. Ha! My question was kindda going against all natural instincts to distress the jacket by getting it dirty... ergo dusty. I was just wondering if I can use one of those plastic covers over my leather so that it looks like it's packaged up...

Pschtyckque, the 1130 that I've got has the elastic band on the front. Sorry I don't have a picture of it handy right now but from this official picture from Wells Lamont's website, you can see the elastic band which is similar to mine. Except, the color of my pair is not that yellow, it's the same ...

Question about plastic on leather...
Never put plastic over the jacket for storage (per Peter Botwright), as it will make the leather sweat. I want to keep my Wested dust-free but... according to Peter, those plastic covers are bad for leather jackets, so does anyone use anything else to keep your jacket dust-free? What are the conseq...

Let me attest that I was out on an air force base a while back and the desert wind there was really gusting. Now at 6am in the morning, that wind was blistering cold and add the wind chill factor to it, it was miserable. So you'll really want to cover every exposed skin on your body, including the b...

How to justify it? You shouldn't try to justify it, like me, I just acknowledge that I do indeed have a problem and I need to conscientiously take note of my actions. That is to own up to it and take responsibility for it. Enough big talk, now I must confess that I do have more than one leather jack...

By jove Maryon, you're right. Just watch LC again on tape and it is actually more like a dark turqoise color, that's how I mistaken it for a dark shade of blue.
