Thanks RCS!
Yup, that is one funky jacket. It's almost non-functional. And somehow still awesome.

Re: Indy 0, by Tony Nowak (a.k.a. "The Struzan")
Yes, RCS, I imagine that he would call Navy pilots sissies. They're up there in the sky in those metal birds, he's down on the ground fighting tanks with his bare hands. To Steranko Indy, EVERYONE who is not him is a sissy. He's just that kind of man. Women want him and men want to be him. That's pr...

Re: Indy 0, by Tony Nowak (a.k.a. "The Struzan")
I'm not sure any images exist of the back. That said, and despite the time period you mention, it's hard for me to imagine indy as steranko drew him wearing any half belt. He's say that's for sissies, then ash his cigarette on your head. He just seems that kind of guy... You could also look to the M...

Re: Indy 0, by Tony Nowak (a.k.a. "The Struzan")
A great idea for sure. Congrats on another great Nowak! The man's work is peerless. To me personally, the ultimate non-canon indy jacket would have to be the STERANKO version from the conceptual art. Everything about those images is cool, jacket included. Would love to see one of those... (And knowi...

So are you saying yours is not as consistently 'grained' as Chris' is? Obviously, consistent is the wrong word for something with so much variation, so maybe pronounced is better? Because at a glance, Chris' jacket -- which seems to resemble all other shrunken lamb Nowaks I've ever seen or seen post...

Then RCS, please post pictures of yours. That would be very helpful. I completely disagree with you that Nowaks look the same from wider to closer angles. The leather 'smoothes' out considerably in the wides of every example I've ever seen. A close up of the surface of the leather would be incredibl...

It's possible, Chris. That's what I'm trying to get to the bottom of. It does seem it could be a different version of the leather. That said, the Nowaks photograph all over the map. But like you, this one seems different to me... That said, I seem to recall PSB saying he wanted the 'infamous' shrunk...

RCS -- Again, you're telling me how things are. I have been to Tony's shop personally, thank you very much -- so don't worry, no need for a call. I have seen Raiders I jackets piled high atop his table -- probably many more than you have ever seen in your life -- some going out to names I recognize ...

RCS -- I would appreciate your not always telling people what they think or what they mean. The second and third pictures to me are NOT representative of the typical Nowak shrunken lamb grain, at least judging by other jackets seen previously. As Baldwyn notes, this texture looks in between the shru...

No Indy89, I don't think so. I think PSB's comment was CLEARLY sarcastic. If you frequent these boards, you know he's said plenty of great things about Westeds and plenty of critical things about Nowaks. And vice versa. So I don't think any 'back-up' was/is required. In fact, I think it's part of wh...

Why would you expect the Wings to be more valuable? One is the actual cut, the identical pattern, the other is a replica. The Wings leather is the same run as the movie... but at the same time, the shades of leather within the film and jackets made for it differed wildly. And more importantly, it's ...

That HAS to be a Raiders jacket. If memory serves, you're right and this was a stand-in. Wouldn't be surprising if they pulled an archive jacket, which happened to be from the first film. It is a wide shot, after all... And definitely the way it wears off the shoulders. To me, this is something ever...

I know some have speculated that the jacket at the end of TOD is an old Raiders, judging by the extremely slim fit and that Ford was much bigger in Temple. But the low yoke is clearly on display within that scene and used to dismiss the idea... So what if both camps were right? Raiders -- and -- low...

Another thing comes to mind: another Wested fanboy. Han, instead of just taking the opportunity to merely snipe I would say that this could certainly be done. TN is no doubt capable. That said, Wested already makes a fine LC jacket. In my opinion -- which is no more or less than one of many -- the L...

Dude, that is THE jacket to my eye. What's interesting to me is how the right/our left corner looks so much longer given the way the jacket swoops down when unzipped. And look at the top of the pocket on that side compared to the other. I can absolutely see how this cut could appear both long and sh...

I do wish _ would stop by this thread. That definitely seems to be a screen used jacket, which goes against what was perceived as fact for so long. Which is not at all uncommon around these parts, but an interesting development to say the least. I'm not as convinced that's Ford on the left of that p...

I'm sure that Nowak makes a very sturdy jacket, he is used to building jackets for bodybuilders. That must afford a certain skill. But I have also seen many many jackets on his website. They are not well fitted or designed. And I have seen many Westeds in my day that were poorly fitted and designed...

consider me in as well. i've already been lucky enough to see the results that come off Fedora's block once (as luckily, i'm a 7 1/4) and the Cury website has stoked my interest to the point that i simply must be a part of the endeavor. there's a hat or two on their website that really make me think...

Socks
Keep in mind as well that Ford was wearing a decidedly long costume in the Map Room scene and as such his feet might not have been showing at all in the day's work and as such were not of concern to the costumer. That sort of thing happens all the time depending on what's due to shoot. The socks cou...

Does anyone out there have one? I own only Wested thus far, but in looking over the US Wings catalogue I was taken aback by how good their antique lamb looks. So, any comments? Are the images posted at US Wings accurate? How thick is the lamb? How has it held up? Any pictures? Really looks like the ...

Hello, all. As I am officially new to this forum, let me first say thanks to all for creating such a place and keeping it as helpful and encouraging a source of information. No small feat, that. Now on to the (hopefully helpful) goods. I recently received my predistressed LC cow from Wested and it r...
