Re: Orvis Indy-style jacket: I want it
Something just as bad in my eyes - they don't even always list what type of hide it is. Well, in the Orvis Webpage it states it's washed cowhide... But I thought That particular jacket was made out of washed goatskin... :-k Curious... I wonder... Are they the same or the one in the Orvis site is a ...

The M19 Leather, according to people who have jackets made with it, is a leather that breaks in very quickly, that would make it perfect for the jacket! I assume Dan's version, just like Rick's, is going to be a generic style...

Hey... Does that mean both your jackets are 2 sizes larger? They both fit perfectly... And judging by the measurements I've seen on other's jackets these were quite generous... Ahhh! I'm confused!

Re: mimesis' Non-SA Indy Jacket
Yeah ...don't get an Indy jacket! as much as we love this jacket, its just not the most functional design out there. You could add a throat latch to the collar. That would solve the birch slapping. Reminds me of a joke about two wood peckers arguing about whether a tree is a son of a beech or...

To put it simply: Everytime I think about adventure, the first thing that comes to my mind Is Indiana Jones, with his amazing gear. :TOH: Speaking of Rick O'Connell, I think he has a "basic" outfit, which is the white shirt with the rolled up sleeves, the khaki pants and the boots, with ma...

Re: mimesis' Non-SA Indy Jacket
Yes - I've been birch-slapped by wearing my TNO CS on my bike. Others have said they don't have problems with the design as a riding jacket, but for whatever reason at 35mph it starts oscillating... The A2 is fine bug it has snaps on the collar and the throat latch seems to control the storm flap.....

I know what you mean about the storm flap! It's about 2 inches wider than it should be, but I like it anyways... It is made from goatskin. The price was about $180 USD.

Re: US Wings Legend Vs G&B Expedition?
I figured out that they measured to the outside of the gusset, which is the added material that allows for more movement for the arm. That accounts for the extra 2 inches as it allows an extra inch in the pit and sleeve area, but is not added to the chest measurement. So, excluding gusset, the pit ...

Currently I'm saving up to buy one of these, but I'm leaning a bit more towards the G&B... My only problem is that I'm quite a small dude (5'4" 120 lbs, size 36) and I'm under the impression that G&B run quite large... wich doesn't really work on me...
