"My" boots, with the rubber heels are definaltly from old stock. "Indy's" boots were bought from another board member more recently. They are from the newer stock and the leather is less red. I would say they are about 5 months old. Hope this helps.

I have been wondering this for a while. My personal Aldens have an all rubber heel. The Aldens being worn by my full size Indy have a totally different heel. They look much nicer in my opinion. I feel so honored to get the FIRST jacket from Wested with elastics \:D/
They do work well and have stood the test of time. I do say make them optional though. Maybe use them standard on the softer leathers :D

Well, they definately aren't for the snow. :?
As for price,,,,,,,,,,,well I pay about 100.00 for runners, and 300.00 for Aldens. The Aldens are WAY more comfortable than any other shoe, and will last 10 times as long. They are worth every cent in my opinion.

This liner sounds like a great idea. How much longer is it than the jacket? My TOD is 4" longer than the standard jacket. This IS the great white North and the longer lenth is REALLY appreciated in the winter.

My Aldens are about 1 month old and are distressing beautifully on their own. I do nothing to protect them, and wer them everywhere. I will put some pecards on them for the snow. I don't recommend any artificial distressing on ANY gear, but it is all personal preference.

I will get some pics from the side, and inside tomorrow :D MaryonRavenwood, I wear a mens 7.5 - 8 nike, womans 9 and a 6.5 EE Alden. You can get them in a 6. That's the smallest they make them. That should work for you. :D I tried a few sizes and thought I needed a 6, but these are perfect. Janice
