Will they be available in a boot cut, tapered legs, or straight leg style?
It's great that you're taking the ball and rolling with this. Looking forward to seeing the shirts too!

I think this is due to their being constructed in heavy duty cotton, as the calvery twill is 'coming'. I'm assuming this sample is just to get the pattern down. IF that's the planned final color...Sergei wrote:They look great Peter. However, the color of the pictured pants are on the yellow side. It is going to be taupe or "office pinks" in color, right?

ITG,
I hear you. The only thing that bothered me about the NH pants was the cut. They pants are actually more strightlegged from the knees down. just look at the film and you'll see that they were pretty straight and tighter around the ankles than Noel had them. I had mine taken in and they look a world better. Did the same to my NH shirt and got the same results. I like! It also gives me the illusion of being slimmer/taller, much like the ribbon size does on the fedoras. I always looked frumpy in the NH, off the rack pants.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what Peter has in store for us.

Re: your new Indy pants
Peter,
Just received my jacket from you and couldn't be happier! I would love to be able to say that I will purchase the Indy pants from you as well, but before I can say that, I have a couple of questions/concerns I would like to have addressed.
First, you said that the sample pants are cotton, but that the Calvalry Twill is on the way. Calvalry Twill, however, is merely the weave...so, will the final product be the 14 oz. wool that Noel used, or will the final product still be cotton? :
Second, Noel's Indy pants appear to have been more of a "greyish-brown" color, whereas your sample pants (as you have stated) are "beige" in color. Will the final color more accurately mimic the actual color of the pants used in the movie, or will your offering be limited to just the "beige"? :
Third, Noel had two different versions (i.e. colors) of Indy pants - the Raider's version and the ToD/LC version; will you (eventually) be offering more than one version, or are you planning on only offering the one version? :
Noel's version of the Indy pants possessed an inside button flap, whereas your sample does not show this; will you be adding this to the final "for sale" version of the pants, or will they be exactly as they are shown in your "sample's" pictures? : Personally, I rather like the addition of an inside button flap.
Irregardless of any differences in the minutia, if the quality of the final Indy pants offering even comes close to the quality of your jackets, then I have no doubt that it will be of the "utmost" quality!
Warm Regards,
Erick

Yeah, for me I prefer boot leg pants for everything. Tapered legged pants look horrible on me. Here are my GAP boot leg Indy pants:agent5 wrote:ITG,

But if Peter is doing a straight leg cut that's better in my opinion than tapered at the ankles, but I'm not really sure what you guys might consider more screen accurate-from what Agent 5 says, it may be the tapered leg.

I congratulate Peter on taking the initiative of producing the trousers and Shirt. Unfortunately, I won't be buying the pants for two reasons. First, the button fly. I have MS and don't have the manual dexterity to manipulate the buttons rapidly wnough when I GOTTA GO NOW!! Second, is price. I'm retired and it's a balancing act to make your money last as long as you live. I understand these are low production items and Peter can't take advantage of economy of scale. I will be buying the shirt, though. I've learned that the trick is to button the shirt up when it's off, save the 2 top buttons. I can then just pull the shirt off and pull it on.
As for pants, the L.L. Bean cavalary twills in the color that looks like milk chocolate make an excellent substitute except for the lack of rear pocket flaps. As I'm almost always in my power chair or on my electric scooter, so it's a moot point. If you want rear pocket flaps, then the L.L. Bean first class twills in taupe are an excellent choice. I'm just tossing these out as good alternatives for those with a limited budget for Indy Gear. If you can afford it, by all means buy Peter's products. He deserves our support.
BTW, in Tampa, FL wool twill is NOT an option except maybe one month out of the year.
